Florida Governor Ron DeSantis can do little wrong as far as Republican voters nationwide are concerned.
His popularity is due in large part to his willingness to stand up to authoritarian bureaucrats like Anthony Fauci.
And Ron DeSantis just let Joe Biden know he’s willing to go all the way to the Supreme Court if that’s what it takes.
Back in April, the Center for Disease Control issued new guidelines not allowing cruise ships to operate unless they met a series of benchmarks including proof of vaccination for 98 percent of the crew and 95 percent of the passengers.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said nope and sued the Biden administration over the new guidelines.
A federal judge agreed with DeSantis and ruled in Florida’s favor last month, slamming the Biden administration in the decision for ignoring the economic harms these rules imposed as well as a Florida law banning vaccine passports at all businesses and events.
The victory was short-lived, at least for the time-being.
In a move that infuriated DeSantis, a three-judge panel on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals stepped in and stopped the lower court’s ruling from taking effect.
Now, Ron DeSantis just announced that Florida would appeal to either the entire 11th Circuit Court of Appeals or even the U.S. Supreme Court if that’s what it takes.
“We are absolutely going to pursue to get the stay removed, either at the full 11th Circuit or at the U.S. Supreme Court,” DeSantis told the press.
Governor DeSantis added that he felt confident the state of Florida would ultimately prevail in court.
“I’m confident that we’d win on the merits, at the full 11th Circuit and, honestly, I’m confident we’d win at the US Supreme Court,” DeSantis added.
During the entire coronavirus pandemic, DeSantis only locked down Florida for a short period of time, and he never once instituted a statewide mask mandate, earning him most of the credit for leading the fight against the coronavirus hysteria nationwide.
And now DeSantis is willing to take this fight to the Supreme Court if that’s what it takes to keep the nonsensical public health interventions out of Florida.
