Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the most radical socialist in Congress.
She is determined to fundamentally change America.
But this SCOTUS justice just destroyed one of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s political fantasies with two harsh words.
During a recent speech in Utah, Clarence Thomas ripped the notion put forward by Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of packing the Supreme Court, saying she can “cavalierly talk” about it.
If Democrats succeed in packing the Supreme Court to give themselves a permanent majority, Thomas explained that it will destroy the credibility of the institution.
“You can cavalierly talk about packing or stacking the Court. You can cavalierly talk about doing this or doing that. At some point the institution is going to be compromised,” Thomas stated.
If the public does not have faith in institutions like the Supreme Court, Thomas said a society is incapable of functioning.
“By doing this, you continue to chip away at the respect of the institutions that the next generation is going to need if they’re going to have civil society,” Thomas added.
One of the loudest voices on the Left for packing the Supreme Court is Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who previously told Fox News she supported a bill to expand the Supreme Court and give the Left a permanent majority on the Court.
“I do think that we should be expanding the Court,” Ocasio-Cortez told Fox News.
Because Amy Coney Barrett replacing Ruth Bader Ginsburg gave conservatives a six to three majority, which meant Democrats were going to come out on the losing end of most major cases, Ocasio-Cortez urged Democrats to pack the Court.
“How much does the current structure benefit us?” Ocasio-Cortez stated. “And I don’t think it does.”
Of course, this is the same argument Democrats make when it comes to elections.
If they lose, they declare it illegitimate, just like they did the Republican Presidential victories in 2000, 2004, and 2016.
Joe Biden even recently declared that the 2022 Midterm elections, which Democrats are expected to take huge losses, were not legitimate because the GOP filibustered their federal takeover of elections.
When it comes to the Supreme Court, since Democrats don’t have a majority, they view their decisions as illegitimate.
And they believe the only way to supposedly restore “legitimacy” to the Court is for Democrats to add as many as six new left-wing Justices.
However, this is a certain recipe for killing all faith in the Supreme Court and thus the ability of a society to function.
