Democrats have done everything they can to prevent this moment from happening.

But after nearly 50 years, the day has finally arrived.

And the SCOTUS leaker chase is in overdrive as the unprecedented security lapse shows Democrats their worst nightmare is about to come true.

According to a leaked draft opinion authored by Justice Samuel Alito and obtained by POLITICO, the Supreme Court is about to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, which imposed the immoral abortion-on-demand regime on all 50 states.

“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” Justice Alito stated. “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”

As Alito then pointed out, even left-wing legal scholars agree that the legal foundation of the Roe decision was weak and did not pass muster.

Not only that, but the Court asserting itself in the abortion debate in 1973 only served to ignite a long cultural war that increased the political divide in America.

“Roe was egregiously wrong from the start. Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences. And far from bringing about a national settlement of the abortion issue, Roe and Casey have enflamed debate and deepened division,” Alito declared.

Joined by Justices Clarence Thomas, Amy Coney Barrett, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh, Alito ripped the idea that the Constitution guarantees a right to an abortion.

“The inescapable conclusion is that a right to abortion is not deeply rooted in the Nation’s history and traditions,” Alito exclaimed.

Of course, as Alito pointed out, the Constitution does not prohibit states from banning abortion.

But he also said the Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood decisions were prime examples of judicial overreach.

“The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion,” Alito ruled. “Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives.”

Conservatives finally achieved the votes needed to overturn Roe v. Wade thanks to Donald Trump’s three Supreme Court nominees.

But now someone on the Left leaked Alito’s opinion as a last-ditch effort to strongarm one of the Justices to cave in and leave Roe v. Wade on the books.

This effort must be defeated by all means necessary.

In the meantime, Conservatives are ratcheting up efforts to find the leaker, with the obvious place to start being left-wing justices’ staff.
