During a recent ABC interview, Border Czar Tom Homan revealed that Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) had traveled to El Salvador on the taxpayers’ dime to visit a deported MS-13 gang member.
The revelation came during Homan’s appearance on ABC’s This Week with Jon Karl, where the former ICE Director highlighted the misplaced priorities of Democrats who seem more concerned about foreign criminals than American victims.
“Well, he obviously knew his whereabouts because he went there to see him. But you know what’s — what bothers me more than that is a U.S. Senator traveled El Salvador on taxpayer dime to meet with a MS-13 gang member, public safety threat terrorist,” Homan stated.
What makes Van Hollen’s trip even more outrageous is that just one day before his international journey, an illegal alien arrested for murder was released onto the streets in Van Hollen’s own state rather than being handed over to ICE.
Homan pointed out the Senator’s complete disinterest in addressing the border crisis that exploded under the Biden-Harris administration.
“What concerns me is Van Hollen never went to the border last four years under Joe Biden, when he had a 600 percent increase in sex trafficking women and children,” Homan explained. “You have a record number of non-suspected terrorists cross that border. You had a quarter million Americans die from fentanyl overdose because of open border.”
The human toll of illegal immigration is something Van Hollen has consistently ignored, according to Homan.
“I met with hundreds of angel moms and dads who buried their children that were murdered by illegal alien. How many angel moms and dads has he met in the state of Maryland? That’s what concerns me,” Homan asked.

“The length of due process is not the same under the Alien Enemies Act. That’s why the Alien Enemies Act was created,” Homan stated. “President Trump invoked the authorities he had under the Alien Enemies Act, an act written and passed by Congress and signed by a president.”
Karl tried to suggest the administration was circumventing the Constitution, but Homan was quick to remind him that they’re simply using existing laws as written.
“We’re using the laws on the books, the statutes on the books to secure the border and remove significant public safety threats and national security threats to this country,” Homan explained.

I’ve talked to hundreds of angel moms and dads whose children were killed and brutally murdered by members of MS-13 who just didn’t kill them, they mutilated them, they tortured them,” Homan revealed.
