The 2022 election results were still trickling when the 2024 campaign kicked off with Donald Trump announcing he will make a third White House run.
Now an insane amount of chaos is about to commence.
And some shocking poll results will leave you thunderstruck.
There’s nothing Democrats want more than a nasty Republican primary battle.
That would be much easier to avoid if one candidate stood out as the clear winner.
But some stunning new poll results are seriously muddying the waters for Republicans.
Emerson College Polling recently surveyed voters to determine how the top Republican frontrunners would do today against Joe Biden in Georgia – a critical swing state.
They put both former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to the test.
And the poll results were jaw-dropping.
Incredibly, it showed President Biden leading Trump by a stunning six points.
Meanwhile, Governor DeSantis is currently leading Biden by a three-point margin.
“Among Georgia independent voters, Biden leads Trump by 6 points in a hypothetical contest, with 20% supporting ‘someone else,” Spencer Kimball, Emerson College Polling Executive Director, explained. “However, when the matchup is Biden vs. DeSantis, the Republican leads by three points, only 8% support ‘someone else.’”
Those results come down to each candidate’s appeal when it comes to swing voters.
“Among women, Biden leads Trump by seven points,” Kimball pointed out. “Against DeSantis, Biden’s lead shrinks to two points. Among men, Trump leads Biden by eight, and DeSantis leads Biden by 11.”
That conclusion is also supported by what conservative polling firm WPA Intelligence has discovered.
That firm also found that the Florida Governor was more popular with conservatives than Trump and DeSantis also has a higher favorability number with ticket splitting voters than both Trump and Biden.
“Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ net favorability ratings surpass Trump among Republicans (+66 vs. +44), FoxNews viewers (+58 vs. +27), and Trump’s own 2020 voters (+69 vs. +54),” WPA Intelligence included in a memo. “DeSantis is also well liked by a broad coalition of Republicans with a 68%/0% favorable/unfavorable rating among self-described ‘Trump Republicans;’ 71%/9% among ‘Traditional Republicans;’ and 82%/5% among ‘Reagan Republicans.’”
“DeSantis has more crossover appeal than both Trump and Biden with a net -3 favorability rating among Independent voters compared to -27 for Biden and -39 for Trump,” the memo continued. “Among split-ticket voters, DeSantis’ net favorability rating is +7, Biden’s is -21, and Trump’s is -36.”
Donald Trump started off the 2024 race as the Republican frontrunner.
However, polling data is showing that Ron DeSantis may end up the stronger candidate.
