House Democrats erupt in outrage after Speaker Mike Johnson defies their latest January 6 demand.
House Democrats are throwing an absolute tantrum after Speaker Mike Johnson refused to bow to their latest demand.
They thought they could force his hand on their pet project.
But Speaker Mike Johnson issued one denial that has Democrats losing their minds.
Democrats Paper Capitol Halls in Childish Protest
House Democrats are having a complete meltdown after Speaker Mike Johnson declined to hang their long-demanded January 6 plaque in the Capitol.
Their response? Acting like petulant children by papering the halls with replica plaques in what can only be described as a political temper tantrum.
On Sunday evening, House Judiciary Democrats posted a whining complaint on X, claiming Congress passed a law to place a plaque in the Capitol honoring officers from January 6.
"The plaque is complete and long overdue for display. But Speaker Johnson is leaving it in a dark closet rather than honor those who protected him on that day," the Democrats complained.
Instead of accepting Johnson’s decision like adults, they announced they’re "placing replicas outside their doors until the official plaque is displayed in the Capitol where it belongs."
The video shows Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) clutching what he calls a "replica" of the plaque Congress voted to install by March 15, 2023.
"It’s now two years overdue," Raskin whined in the video.
Raskin Delivers Dramatic Performance About January 6
Never one to miss an opportunity for theatrics, Raskin launched into his typical dramatic performance about January 6.
He claimed the plaque "honors the sacrifice and the valor, the commitment of the police officers who saved us—the members of the House and Senate, who saved the vice president, who saved American democracy from a violent effort to overturn the presidential election."
Raskin then complained that "Speaker Johnson refuses to put it up. He’s consistently refused to put it up."
Working himself into a frenzy, Raskin announced that he and other ranking Democrats sent a letter to all their colleagues demanding they put up the replica plaques "until Speaker Johnson complies with the law."
"And there should be nothing controversial about this, and people should stop trying to rewrite the history of what happened on January 6," Raskin declared.
But here’s what’s really happening: Democrats are desperate to keep January 6 in the headlines because they know it’s one of their few remaining political weapons against Donald Trump.
Johnson Stands Firm Against Democrat Pressure Campaign
Speaker Johnson’s refusal to hang the plaque represents a significant stand against the Democrat Party’s ongoing efforts to weaponize January 6 for political gain.
Democrats have spent years trying to turn January 6 into their version of 9/11, complete with commemorative plaques and endless political theater.
But Johnson isn’t playing their game.
By refusing to participate in their political theater, Johnson is sending a clear message that the House won’t be turned into a shrine for the Democrat Party’s January 6 narrative.
The Speaker understands that hanging this plaque would only encourage more Democrat grandstanding and political theater in the people’s House.
Democrats Show Their True Colors
The Democrats’ decision to paper the Capitol halls with replica plaques reveals everything you need to know about their priorities.
Instead of focusing on the serious issues facing American families—like inflation, border security, and economic growth—Democrats are obsessing over political theater from nearly four years ago.
Their tantrum over a plaque shows they’re more interested in scoring political points than actually governing.
This childish protest is exactly the kind of behavior that turned off voters in the 2024 election.
Americans are tired of Democrats treating serious institutions like the Capitol as props for their political performances.
Johnson’s refusal to cave to their demands shows the kind of principled leadership Republicans need to continue delivering for the American people.
The Democrats can keep their replica plaques and their political theater.
Speaker Johnson has more important work to do for the American people.
