Now that their efforts to put him in jail over “classified documents” and a so-called “insurrection” have failed, Democrats need a new angle to attack Donald Trump.
But apparently all they have left is to start replaying their greatest hits.
And Stormy Daniels left everyone stunned after she publicly thanked Donald Trump.
Last March, soon after taking office, Manhattan Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg dropped a years-long investigation by the DA’s office into alleged financial irregularities by former President Donald Trump.
That decision, of course, took Bragg from left-wing hero to a villain of those Democrats who cannot possibly conceive of a world in which a witch hunt against Trump isn’t based in reality.
Nevertheless, considering the fact that he does need the ultra-wealthy and very white woke left-wing radicals who make up the overwhelming majority of his Manhattan district, Bragg hasn’t stopped going after Trump.
In fact, just last week, reports indicated that the Manhattan District Attorney has revived a years-long investigation into a supposed “hush money” payment from Trump to porn star Stormy Daniels.
Now, if it seems odd that Stormy Daniels is being brought up again, literally for the first time in years, that’s likely because you have a vague recollection of both the Department of Justice and New York Attorney General investigating the matter and both closing their investigations after concluding there was nothing there to prosecute Trump with.
Additionally, disgraced former Trump attorney Michael Cohen has already been prosecuted on campaign finance law violations related to the alleged payment.
Regardless, with the Manhattan District Attorney looking to score political points by targeting him, the former President rightly pointed out that this entire ordeal is “very old” news.
“With respect to the ‘Stormy’ nonsense, it is VERY OLD & happened a long time ago, long past the very publicly known & accepted deadline of the Statute of Limitations,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I placed full Reliance on the JUDGMENT & ADVICE OF COUNCIL, who I had every reason to believe had a license to practice law, was competent, & was able to appropriately provide solid legal services. He came from a good law firm, represented other clients over the years, & there was NO reason not to rely on him, and I did.”
Trump went on to also note the major shift Bragg has taken from closing his offices’ investigations into the former President to reviving an old investigation both federal and state officials have long since closed the books on.
“The ‘Stormy’ Fake Witch Hunt has been stop and go, on again, off again, for years, to the point where the whole thing has become Prosecutorial Misconduct,” Trump added. “Missed Statute Big. The Fake News has been pushing the D.A., and all D.A.’s and Prosecutors, at a level that they have NEVER been pushed before. Just study D.A. Bragg’s CNN interview from 2 months ago – Disgraceful! There’s NO GUILT, just Trump Derangement Syndrome. GET this man, even if he’s innocent. It’s all WEAPONIZED POLITICS. So Sad!”
And to the surprise of many, Daniels herself chose to chime in, thanking Trump for what she claimed somehow amounted to an admission that all her claims are true.
“Thanks for just admitting that I was telling the truth about EVERYTHING,” Daniels wrote on Twitter. “Guess I’ll take my ‘horse face’ back to bed now, Mr. former ‘president.’ Btw, that’s the correct way to use quotation marks.”
America has officially reached the point in Democrats’ “Destroy Donald Trump” soap opera that they’ve begun recycling debunked narratives in an effort to get the American people to tune back in.
No matter how many times they investigate the same alleged crimes only to come up with nothing, Democrats are going to continue going after Trump because it’s proven time and time again since 2016 to be a winning campaign strategy.
And the sooner Republicans figure that out, the sooner the country can finally move on.
