In recent years, the far-left has asserted complete ownership and control over professional sports.
League executives, teams, and owners trip over themselves to see who can engage in the most over the top form of anti-American performance art to satisfy the woke mobs out in the streets and online.
But now, Texas Senator Ted Cruz called out this Trump-hating NBA owner for refusing to say these three words.
On Monday, Mark Cuban tweeted to a Texas radio host that he was glad to lose him as a fan due to the NBA’s support for the anti-American Black Lives Matter movement and for the league supporting kneeling during the National Anthem.
Cuban then complained about the “National Anthem police” defending America’s honor.
“The National Anthem Police in this country are out of control. If you want to complain, complain to your boss and ask why they don’t play the National Anthem every day before you start work,” Cuban whined.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz then jumped in and expressed amazement that Cuban would tell Texans to “piss off” over the anti-American National Anthem protests.
Cuban complained that Cruz didn’t tag his Twitter handle, as if he were afraid to engage with Cuban, which led to Cruz dropping the hammer on Cuban daring him to say the words “Free Hong Kong.”
“Still no answer from @mcuban Let’s try simpler. Mark, tough guy, can you say ‘Free Hong Kong’? Can your players put that on their jerseys? Can you condemn the CCP’s concentration camps w/ 1 million Uyghurs? Can you say ANYTHING other than ‘Chairman Mao is beautiful & wise,’” Cruz wrote.
Cuban – as well as the entire NBA – sits in silence about Communist Chinese oppression in Hong Kong and ethnic cleansing of a Muslim minority in China.
The NBA likes to fancy itself at the cutting edge of social justice and political expression.
But none of the big mouths in the NBA, from Mark Cuban to Greg Popovich, Steve Kerr to LeBron James, will say anything about China and risk billions of dollars in league revenue.
