Stretching the truth is the only thing career politician Joe Biden does well.
But his latest lie is so blatant it’s pushed Senator Ted Cruz over the edge.
And Republican Senator Ted Cruz got brutally honest about exactly what Biden’s done to America.
Gas prices have been climbing since the day Joe Biden took his oath of office.
And there’s probably a reminder at your local gas station since angry voters have been slapping stickers on gas pumps with a picture of Joe Biden pointing to the price per gallon that reads, “I did this.”
Of course, the Biden administration is well aware nothing will drive up his unpopularity like continuous pain at the pump.
So, he’s busy scrambling for an excuse ahead of the 2022 midterm election.
Right now, there’s no better scapegoat than Vladimir Putin—and Biden is betting on voters forgetting about the steady drain on their finances that was amping up long before Putin attacked Ukraine.
In fact, Biden and his handlers are even labeling what’s happening as their “Putin’s Price Hike.”
But there’s a problem with that claim.
“Joe Biden is putting the blame on high gas prices everywhere except himself,” A watchdog group wrote in a Twitter post. “Yet Biden made it clear while campaigning that he planned on shutting down oil production in America. We have the receipts.”
Of course, Biden is an old pro at playing the blame game.
“I’m going to do everything I can to minimize Putin’s price hike here at home,” Biden said.
But he’s clearly blowing smoke.
Imports only account for about 20% of the U.S. oil supply—and Russian oil only constitutes about 8% of U.S. oil imports.
That means Russian crude oil and petroleum products make up less than 2% of our country’s fuel supply.
But Biden’s administration and his buddies in Big Media aren’t known for letting facts get in the way.
They’re still pushing the “Putin Price Hike” narrative like its gospel truth.
But Texas Senator Ted Cruz isn’t having it.
“This is a flat out lie. Gas prices have increased 48% under Biden—BEFORE RUSSIA INVADED UKRAINE,” Cruz wrote in a tweet. “Biden did that.”
Cruz explained that our current mess is due to Biden’s comprehensive effort to destroy our domestic energy supply by killing the Keystone pipeline, freezing federal oil and gas leases, and shutting down drilling in the ANWR oil fields in Alaska.
And Cruz says Biden did all of that while waiving sanctions on Putin’s pipeline.
Of course, now that he’s painted himself into a corner with angry Americans forced to juggle trying to pay for inflated prices at the gas station and grocery store, Biden is playing the victim card.
“They’re going to go up.” Biden said when a CNN reporter asked him about gas prices. “Can’t do much right now. Russia’s responsible.”
Biden and the Democrats will see who voters decide to hold responsible in November.
