At this point, speculation regarding Democrats potentially replacing Joe Biden as their 2024 nominee has run so rampant it seems rather inevitable.
With his historically low approval ratings and Donald Trump’s current lead in head-to-head polls, Democrats are being left with no choice but to look elsewhere.
A recent poll conducted by the New York Times and Siena College Research Institute indicated that former President Donald Trump is not only leading President Joe Biden head-to-head nationally, but he’s also currently leading the Democrat President in five of the top-six battleground states many believe will ultimately decide the 2024 election.
Considering the fact that Trump is building such a lead so far out from next November’s election despite facing a near-constant onslaught of lawfare perpetrated by Democrats’ many witch hunt indictments against him, Democrats are obviously in a total panic.
As such, many Democrats are beginning to call for the Party to move on from Biden and back another Democrat as their Presidential nominee in 2024.
That now includes former Obama chief strategist David Axelrod, who recently came out to suggest that it’s time for Democrats to get serious about ditching President Biden for another candidate.
And Fox News’ Brian Killmeade recently asked Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) whether “Axelrod coming out against Joe Biden the way he did, how he’s doing it, telling him it’s up to you to drop out, it’s all on you, Joe, is there something more to that than someone who’s well-known and respected in political circles? Is there something else?”
Senator Cruz responded by explaining that he certainly believes there’s more to Axelrod’s comments as he believes it’s former President Barack Obama who has been pulling the strings behind the scenes in the Biden regime this entire time.
“Look, I think that’s very serious, it’s been my view for a long time that Barack Obama has been the person pulling the strings behind Joe Biden,” Cruz explained. “Joe Biden is clearly not up to it. I think Obama is the one making the decision and Axelrod is Obama’s right hand.”
But Cruz also reiterated his prediction that Democrats may be planning to string out Biden’s re-election campaign through the Democrat National Convention next summer, where they’ll then parachute in former First Lady Michelle Obama to save the Party while leaving little time for her to be properly vetted as a candidate.
“Biden is not up to it,” Cruz added. “Even with his diminished capacity they don’t think he can do it. I said on my podcast three months ago Verdict with Ted Cruz. I predicted that there was a very real chance that the Democrats would jettison Joe Biden and parachute in Michelle Obama and that they’d do it at the convention next summer. I think the chances of that happening are rising every day.”
The former First Lady would obviously be a dream candidate for Democrats, as she checks multiple woke boxes as a black female, and is as unhinged of a woke extremist as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) or any other elected Democrat without having the baggage of being in the news cycle on a daily basis.
Kilmeade went on to point out that Michelle Obama has never been properly vetted as every other candidate for President throughout modern history has been, which is likely a big reason Democrats would want her as a Biden alternative.
And of course, as Senator Cruz pointed out, another reason Democrats would likely opt for rolling out another Obama to replace President Biden is because they’ve backed themselves into a woke corner in which their woke left-wing outrage mob base would likely riot if they bypassed Vice President Kamala Harris for a white male candidate, like California Governor Gavin Newsom.
“She has not [been properly vetted],” Cruz said. “And look, the reason I say Michelle Obama is if Biden gets out of the way, the person who’s next is Kamala Harris and she’s a very flawed candidate. They know that. In the Democratic Party, they can’t push Kamala Harris aside and replace her with a white guy.”
While throwing the former First Lady into a Presidential race against Donald Trump in the middle of the summer leading into the General Election may sound like a major Hail Mary for Democrats, it’s also not outlandish to think she’d perform extremely well.
With her husband still beloved amongst Democrats, and polls routinely showing her as a top choice of Democrat voters anytime she’s included in the field, Michelle Obama could possibly be the best candidate Democrats have to put forward.
And Republicans would be wise to not let Democrats catch them off-guard with such a switcheroo.
