Since Joe Biden selected Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate, he and the Democrat Party have come under fierce criticism from those on both ends of the political spectrum.
Americans are concerned about Harris’ troubled political past in California and what bringing that to the White House would look like.
And now the Democrat Party just got the worst news they could imagine ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
California’s extreme far-left policies are like none other in the United States.
But no matter how much the so-called “progressive” policies fail in the state, Democrats continue to push things even further.
So when California’s Governor Gavin Newsom makes an admission that he and the Democrats’ policies have failed the state, it’s a big deal.
That’s exactly what happened earlier this month.
While experiencing a historic heat wave over on the West Coast, California’s reliance on renewable energy sources like solar and wind has been tested.
And it failed miserably – as millions of Californians were left without power.
Gavin Newsom was forced to admit that this was the case, and announced in a state of emergency that the Golden State would be forced to return to reliance on traditional energy sources, at least temporarily.
“These blackouts, which occurred without prior warning or enough time for preparation, are unacceptable and unbefitting of the nation’s largest and most innovative state,” Newsom said in the press release. “This cannot stand. California residents and businesses deserve better from their government.”
This is horrible news for Joe Biden and the Democrat Party.
As many conservatives warned, reliance on renewable energy sources can be dangerous as there’s no guarantee that there will be enough solar and wind energy to go around.
But both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have endorsed Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s infamous “Green New Deal” in all but the name itself.
In fact, in July, the Biden campaign released his $2 trillion “Green New Deal”-style energy agenda.
In it, they promise a “carbon pollution-free electric sector by the year 2025.”
They also plan to install 500 million solar panels within five years to eliminate reliance on oil and natural gas.
However, if the country’s most far-left state can’t get the energy it needs when it’s been given the green light from Democrats to shift to renewable energy resources, how can Americans trust that this would work on a national scale?
It’s simply unrealistic for many Americans in middle America – or “fly-over country” as Democrats see it – to see their states and local cities move to expensive energy sources.
The truth is, Ocasio-Cortez’s Chief of Staff Saikat Chakrabarti admitted that the Green New Deal is a “how-do-you-change-the-entire economy thing”.
And that’s exactly what a Joe Biden-Kamala Harris ticket has promised to do.
