The January 6 Committee exists to decimate Donald Trump’s political career and discredit his legacy as president.
And they thought it would be a slam dunk.
But in a stunning turnaround Nancy Pelosi’s witch hunt looks like it’s about to implode after a bombshell revelation exposed the committee’s star witness.
Democrats, RINOs, and corporate-controlled media hacks all thought a formerly obscure White House aid was their golden ticket to send Donald Trump packing for good.
Cassidy Hutchinson was their dream witness describing Donald Trump as a crazed lunatic allowing armed mobs to storm the Capitol.
But it didn’t take long for her testimony to fall apart as several lies caught up with her.
Other witnesses who testified before Hutchinson took the stand and contradicted her “made for TV” version of events.
Now a new witness has demolished any shreds of credibility Hutchinson had left.
Committee members were practically salivating when they got a chance to corner Trump White House counsel Pat Cipollone into testifying.
But that approach backfired big time.
Committee member Representative Zoe Lofgren, a Democrat out of California, tried pretending Cipollone supported Hutchinson’s most explosive claims.
One included Hutchinson’s assertion that Cipollone said they would be charged with every crime in the book if Trump went to the Capitol on January 6.
Another was a claim that Cipollone said Trump’s Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows, would have blood on his hands if he didn’t prod Trump into telling his supporters to pack up and go home.
“Well, the Committee rules don’t allow us to disclose testimony without a vote of the committee. We have not had that vote,” Lofgren said during a CNN interview. “I will say Mr. Cipollone did appear voluntarily and answer a whole variety of questions. He did not contradict the testimony of other witnesses.”
“I think we did learn a few things, which we will be rolling out in the hearings to come,” she continued. “So I think it was, as you know, a grueling day for all involved. Mr. Cipollone and the staff and the members, but it was well worth it.”
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer was quick to play along, asking Lofgren if that meant Cipollone confirmed Hutchinson’s testimony.
And that’s where the Congresswoman’s song and dance fell apart.
“Not contradicting is not the same as confirming,” Lofgren hedged. “Well, he could say so-and-so was wrong, which he did not say there were things he might not be present for, or in some cases could be recalled with precision.”
“My sense was that he, as I say, he does appear voluntarily,” she continued. “I think he was candid with the committee. He was careful in his answers, and I believe that he was honest in his answers.”
But later it was revealed that Cipollone did not confirm Hutchinson’s allegations because the Committee was careful to avoid asking him if what Hutchinson said during her testimony about what he had said on January 6 was accurate.
Missing a question that obvious was a calculated move.
The Committee never asked Cipollone to confirm Hutchinson’s testimony because they already knew he would have to undermine her.
And Cipollone’s failure to confirm Hutchinson’s claims would cause the January 6 Committee’s entire narrative to collapse.
