California officials want to do everything in their power to resist the incoming Trump administration.
And they are going to extreme lengths to subvert his entire agenda.
That’s why the radical Left’s war with Trump’s Border Czar is heating up as a California county passed one sick law.
San Diego Democrats protecting rapists and murderers from being deported
California Governor Gavin Newsom wants to make his state the headquarters of the resistance against President-elect Donald Trump next year.
And Democrats in the Golden State and around the country are ready to fight tooth and nail to prevent the Trump administration from deporting illegal aliens.
Some Democrats try and claim they’re okay with illegal aliens convicted of violent crimes being deported.
But the San Diego County Board of Supervisors recently voted to create a “super sanctuary” county that goes beyond existing California law to protect illegal aliens.
Local law enforcement will be prevented from helping or communicating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents working in the county.
San Diego County Board of Supervisors Democrat Chair Nora Vargas claimed that the California Values Act didn’t go far enough in protecting illegal aliens from ICE.
“While the California Values Act significantly expanded protection from deportation to California residents, it fell short of protecting all residents because it allowed agencies to still notify ICE of release dates and transfers individuals to ICE without a warrant in some circumstances,” Vargas stated. “This loophole has allowed the transfer of some individuals to ICE and notifications to ICE of release dates, leading to the deportation of our community members and the separation of families in our region.”
The so-called “loophole” that San Diego County closed means that ICE won’t even be notified when an illegal alien commits a violent crime like rape or murder.
An illegal alien will avoid deportation and be released back out onto the streets after they serve their sentence.
Three Democrats on the board voted in favor of the “Super Sanctuary” law while Republican Supervisor Jim Desmond opposed it.
San Diego super sanctuary law rightfully blasted
Desmond blasted the Democrats on the board for betraying the people they’re supposed to protect.
“This reckless measure not only goes far beyond California’s already extreme Sanctuary State laws but actively endangers our communities by shielding illegal immigrant criminals from deportation. Consider this: under this policy, law enforcement is prohibited from notifying ICE about individuals, in custody, who have committed violent and heinous crimes, including: Rape and stalking, Assault and battery, Burglary, Child abuse and more,” Desmond said.
Desmond vowed to fight the law and said he had spoken to the incoming Trump administration about it.
San Diego County Democrat Sheriff Kelly Martinez is opposed as well.
She put out a statement saying that her office wouldn’t follow the new “super sanctuary” law because the board of supervisors doesn’t have jurisdiction over her.
During an appearance on Fox News, Trump’s “Border Czar” Tom Homan warned that cities like San Diego were putting people at risk.
“You’ve got San Diego writing legislation. You’ve got Colorado and other states and other cities saying they’re going to prevent us from doing what I’m doing. I want to send a clear message,” Homan said. “If you let us in the jail, we can arrest the bad guy in the jail and in the safety and security of the jail. One officer could do that, but when you release a public safety threat back into the community, you put the community, you put the community at risk. You put my officers at risk. You put the alien at risk.”
San Diego Democrats have spoken loud and clear: They are more interested in protecting violent criminals than the law abiding Americans who live in their county.
