The Biden regime has not only come to fully expect the media to carry its water but also use every bit of ammunition they can muster to torpedo those who oppose woke extremism.
And with Democrats viewing Tucker Carlson as vulnerable after his ouster from Fox News, they’re desperate for self-proclaimed “journalists” to deliver a career-ending blow.
But the Biden regime went to DefCon One after this journalist gave Tucker Carlson a jaw-dropping send off.
Today News Africa’s Simon Ateba has emerged as one of the only White House correspondents not employed by an outlet like Fox News to challenge the Biden regime’s narratives and lack of transparency.
In fact, after months in which Biden Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, and her predecessor Jen Psaki, both refused to call on him during briefings – even when an African delegation visited the White House, which is a known slap in the face to international journalists in the White House Press corps. – he blasted the Regime, saying “the level of discrimination against me and against African journalists in the White House is astounding, it’s disgraceful.”
As a result, the Biden regime has forced him into the very back corner of the briefing room, where he now is left to try to shout his questions from the back in the hopes maybe one day Jean-Pierre or other officials will actually answer his questions.
But while the Biden regime has gone to great lengths to silence Ateba, they have simply fueled his fire to speak truth to power.
As he explained in an op-ed last November, when he first came stateside, he believed the way CNN portrayed America was reality, but thanks to the way the Biden White House has treated him – not to mention a few Fox News appearances – he now knows the truth.
“When I first arrived in the United States, having watched CNN for years, I came to believe that the racists and the bad guys in the United States were the Republicans, the old white guys with no college degrees who live in the Midwest,” Ateba wrote. “But in the Biden White House, as I have struggled to get access, to ask questions, to be treated with the same dignity as others, I came to realize that the Republicans were not the racists and the horrible, awful people I was told they were.”
Now, in the wake of Tucker Carlson’s jaw-dropping ouster from Fox News, Ateba has once again emerged as a major thorn in the Biden regime’s side thanks to one farewell message.
A recurring guest on Carlson’s primetime Fox News show, Ateba said he was of the opinion that the host “is a phenomenal journalist and an exceptional person,” and that “his departure from Fox News Channel has left a void that will be difficult to fill.”
He also penned a personal message to the now-former Fox News host, thanking him for having his back throughout his run-ins with the Biden regime.
“You had my back, and I have your back today,” Ateba said. “You introduced me to millions and millions and millions of great Americans. Many have become friends and followers today. And I am a black man! Thank you! Your future is bright.”
“Loyalty is the greatest indicator in human relations,” he added. “I cannot pay @TuckerCarlson for what he has done for me – but all I can say is thank you. How did you do it? There are many people on television, so why were you the [most] watched person in cable news in the most advanced country on the planet. Even those who hated you or your commentaries know how tough real journalism is. You did it because you’re simply the best. So thank you for all those evenings, all those hours of great journalism.”
For his part, Carlson had mentioned in his lone public statement since his ouster that one of the more surprising aspects of the entire ordeal for him has been “how many genuinely nice people there are in this country, kind and decent people, people who really care about what’s true and a bunch of hilarious people — also, a lot of those.”
Needless to say, the last thing the Biden regime wanted to see was anyone, much less journalists, rallying around Carlson at a time when they wanted the focus to be on keeping him off-air for good.
But as Simon Ateba pointed out, Tucker Carlson’s “future is bright,” and Democrats certainly haven’t heard the last from either of them.
