CNN President Jeff Zucker’s anti-Trump bias has virtually destroyed CNN.
Once the “most trusted name in news,” CNN is a shell of its former self.
And now the writing is on the wall for CNN after execs saw these numbers.
Tangling with President Trump hasn’t been good for CNN’s bottom line.
From Day One, Zucker drove the network to combatively cover the Trump administration.
Between making clown-reporter Jim Acosta their Chief White House correspondent and going all-in on the fake Russia collusion handle, the network has done everything they can to take down the President.
Instead, President Trump has come out on top of most of the altercations, especially those with Acosta where Trump has repeatedly shut him down as “fake news.”
As it turns out, their combative posture hasn’t been good for their bottom line.
And the last television ratings numbers for the first week of July shows that CNN had the lowest ratings of any major news network on television, bringing in a paltry 1.5 million viewers – nearly 2 million fewer viewers than Fox News.
Things weren’t much better for MSNBC, which has charted a similar course to CNN, with 1.7 million viewers.
In the end, it seems cable news viewers really want to see Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity – both of whom dominated the airwaves as Fox News experienced its 26th consecutive week on top.
In early July, Hannity topped the ratings, but for the most recent quarter, Carlson crushed his colleagues and competitors by bringing in more viewers than any television news show in history.
When it comes down to it, the American people are sick and tired of being lied to by pundits in the Fake News Media.
The only question is, how much longer CNN can keep its leaky sinking ship afloat.
