Numerous reports have already exposed the fact that the Deep State did everything it could to hamstring the incoming Trump administration in Joe Biden’s final days in office.
But now the nation is starting to learn how at least some ruling class elites also lined their pockets behind the scenes.
And now this Biden official’s covert power grab in Joe Biden’s final days has Americans demanding jail time.
Biden official showers donors with tax dollars
Democrats’ misnamed “Inflation Reduction Act” was touted as the ultimate answer to the massive inflation crisis their policies created throughout the Biden Presidency.
But in reality, as Democrats like Rep. Jennifer McClellan (D-VA) fully admitted, it was really “the biggest climate bill in our nation’s history.”
Rather than actually addressing the issue of inflation, Democrats – with the votes of countless establishment RINOs – created a $1 trillion slush fund for their environmental extremist wishlist.
But on the campaign trail, President Donald Trump promised to divert the unspent funds to funding an extension of his historic 2017 tax cuts for working-class Americans.
As expected, unelected bureaucrats within the Biden federal government took that as the ultimate challenge once Trump was elected and went to work flushing untold sums of taxpayer dollars down the drain in an effort to spend all of the funds on Democrats’ environmental extremist nonsense.
And according to reports, Biden Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, who previously served as Michigan’s Democrat Governor, chose to funnel billions of these tax dollars to “green energy loans” for her campaign donors in her home state.
Just four days prior to Trump’s inauguration, the Biden Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office announced $22.9 billion in loan guarantees for utility companies – which bring in billions of dollars in revenue on their own each year – to complete “green energy projects” in 12 states.
Of that nearly $23 billion in taxpayer money the Biden regime flushed down the drain, Granholm reportedly ensured that $14 billion went to two Michigan-based utility companies, Consumers Energy and DTE Energy.
CNBC previously reported in 2020 that campaign finance records kept by the state of Michigan indicated that DTE Energy’s political action committee donated $34,000 to Granholm’s 2006 Gubernatorial re-election campaign.
Once she was re-elected, Granholm also appointed then-DTE Energy CEO Stephen Ewing to Michigan’s Early Childhood Investment Corporation Executive Committee – Ewing also personally donated $3,400 to Granholm’s 2004 campaign, according to CNBC’s reporting.
Only scratching the surface
Furthermore, Consumers Energy Vice President Brandon Hofmeister served as a climate policy advisor to Granholm during her time as Governor.
CNBC noted that Consumers Energy contributed at least $25,000 to Granholm’s political efforts from 2004 through 2006.
Interestingly, just weeks before Granholm and the rest of the Biden regime’s spending spree, the Biden Department of Energy Inspector General released a December report warning that the Loan Programs Office faced a “significant risk of fraud.”
At the time, their investigation indicated that Biden Energy Department officials were completely ignoring and violating rules established to combat conflicts of interest.
In fact, Inspector General Teri Donaldson even went so far as to publicly call for the program to be halted until it could be confirmed that Biden Energy Department officials were actually complying with rules against conflicts of interest.
Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) was one of the few in Congress to speak out against Granholm’s spending spree, demanding that she stop her spending spree in light of the Inspector General’s report.
“In its final days, the Biden Administration has been shoveling taxpayer money out the door with insufficient safeguards against fraud, waste, and abuse. Secretary of Energy Granholm should immediately stop the entire loan process until the department puts strict safeguards in place to protect American taxpayers,” Barrasso told the Washington Free Beacon.
From the time Donald Trump won November’s election until he was sworn in on January 20, the Biden Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office reportedly funneled $100 billion of taxpayer money to Democrats’ environmental extremist pet projects.
Jennifer Granholm ensured that a significant portion of that money was funneled to her top allies and big-money donors.
And it’s rather safe to assume that the billions of taxpayer dollars she handed out for political favors is merely scratching the surface of the corruption the Biden regime was up to in its final days in power.
