Democrats have made it clear that they not only despise but are actively trying to destroy anyone who doesn’t loathe and work to stop Donald Trump at every turn.
As such it’s an obvious political death sentence for any Democrat to do anything but hate the former President.
But this Democrat just sent Washington, D.C. into chaos with this utterly mind-blowing defense of Donald Trump.
Former President Donald Trump once again sent Democrats and their media allies into hysterics recently when he echoed the sentiment expressed by many black Americans that Democrats’ lawfare strategy against him would make some black voters more open to voting for him.
“And then I got indicted a second time and then a third time and a fourth time!” Trump said during a speech at the Black Conservative Federation’s annual gala, where he was awarded the organization’s “Champion of Black America” award.
“And a lot of people said that that’s why the black people like me, because they have been hurt so badly and discriminated against,” he continued. “And they actually viewed me as – I’m being discriminated against. It’s been pretty amazing.”
Numerous national and battleground state polls have indicated that a growing number of black Americans are starting to warm up to the idea of voting for Trump.
According to a recent poll conducted by The New York Times and Siena College Research Institute, 16% of black Americans support Trump’s 2024 campaign, up from the 12% exit polls indicated he garnered in 2020.
Nevertheless, Democrats and their media allies reacted to Trump’s statement by hurling their typical attacks of suggesting he is “racist.”
But one prominent, lifelong, black Democrat was having none of it.
In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, ESPN’s highest paid employee Stephen A. Smith came to Trump’s defense.
“Dare I say something that might– will probably be termed the most uncomfortable thing that I’ve ever had to articulate out of my mouth from a political perspective,” Smith began. “But I gotta tell you something. As much as people may have been abhorred by Donald Trump’s statement weeks ago, talking about how black folks – he’s hearing that black folks find him relatable because of what he is going through is similar to what black Americans have gone through – he wasn’t lying. He was telling the truth.”
Smith explained that Democrats’ open weaponization of the justice system against Trump is relatable to black Americans, who have seen many “historic, iconic” black Americans face the exact same sort of treatment through the justice system.
“When you see the law and law enforcement, the court system, and everything else being exercised against him, it is something that black folks throughout this nation can relate to with some of our historic, iconic figures,” Smith pointed out. “We’ve seen that happen throughout society.”
But the ESPN talking head also noted that it’s not just Democrats’ weaponization of the justice system that opened black Americans up to the idea of supporting Trump – it’s also President Joe Biden’s significant physical and cognitive decline.
“So, no matter what race, what ethnicity you may emanate from, we relate to you when you’re suffering like that ’cause we know we have,” Smith explained. “And that’s what he articulated. As unpopular as it was, as much as we didn’t like to hear it, it’s the truth. And there’s no way around it. Those are all contributing factors to the state of affairs with the slippage that appears to be taking fold [sic] when it comes to President Biden unfortunately.”
Of course, President Biden certainly hasn’t done himself any favors with working class minority voters as his open borders agenda and failed “Bidenomics” agendas have had as negative an impact on black and Hispanic Americans as anyone.
And as a result of his incompetence across the board, more and more Americans who have long voted exclusively for Democrats are starting to see the light.
