House Republicans were mired in a two-week slog to figure out who would be the next Speaker of the House after Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was removed from the position.
The entire ordeal could have been solved over a week ago, but establishment Republicans like Rep. Mike Lawler (RINO-NY) have gone out of their way to block popular picks, like Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), merely out of spite over the ruling class’ loss of power in the GOP.
And in a recent episode of Fox & Friends, Fox News’ Lawrence Jones took Rep. Lawler to task for refusing to support Jordan, and instead voting twice to reinstall the failed McCarthy as Speaker.
“What is it going to take for you guys to get your act together?” Jones asked Lawler.
The RINO Congressman attempted to shift the blame to Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who led the effort to oust Rep. McCarthy, only to have Jones smackdown his excuses.
“The Matt Gaetz thing is past us now,” Jones shot back. “We have a new nominee that’s on the floor. And the question is, why aren’t you voting for him?”
Rep. Lawler then attempted to blame Jordan for not being willing to completely bend the knee to the ruling class on their desire to bend over and allow Democrats to ram their entire woke extremist agenda into law.
“What I’ve said to Jim Jordan from the very start is you have to get the right people in the room so that we can hash this out,” Lawler responded.
But Jones once again hit Lawler with a dose of reality, pointing out that every Republican has been in the same room many times throughout this process, and they have chosen their nominees for Speaker, yet the Congressman and his elitist ilk continue to refuse to get on board with literally the entire rest of the GOP – even McCarthy himself was all-in on Jordan’s candidacy.
The Fox News host demanded that Lawler stop attempting to point the finger at others and take accountability for his own actions.
“I’m asking about you though, Congressman,” Jones emphasized. “Not the ‘right people’ – you! You are voting against.”
Unsurprisingly, despite being a Member of Congress and supposed adult male, Lawler whined that Jones was simply pressing him too hard on this issue, seemingly sounding like many of the woke extremist snowflakes who populate college campuses.
Nevertheless, Rep. Lawler did ultimately concede, and fully admitted that he refused to support the Ohio Congressman solely because Rep. Jordan opposes the ruling class elites’ foreign policy of giving Ukraine a blank check to fight globalists’ proxy war against Russia, kicking the can down the road with another spending bill that will fully fund Democrats’ woke extremist agenda, and the establishment’s open borders agenda.
“With all due respect, you can – you can yell at me about it,” Lawler whined. “But with all due respect, if we don’t get everybody in the room to hash out the path forward, it doesn’t matter who the Speaker is, alright? We can elect a new Speaker, but we still need 218 votes on the floor to pass our appropriations bills to deal with aid to Israel, to deal with the crisis in Ukraine, to deal with our border. If we can’t compromise within the conference, forget about the Democrats within the conference. We’re not going to be able to govern.”
“And that is the fundamental problem here,” he claimed. “So when you had eight people team up with 208 Democrats to unceremoniously remove Kevin McCarthy without cause, and then they moved to block Steve Scalise because they wanted Jim Jordan, you create a problem within the conference. And what I’m saying is if you want to fix it, as I told Jim Jordan last week, get everybody in the room that needs to be there and fix it. That’s the only way forward.”
Once again, all Republicans have been in the same room many times throughout the past few weeks – Lawler and his ilk have had ample opportunity to do exactly what they’re claiming needs to be done, but they have yet to lift a finger to do anything other than whine.
Furthermore, while Lawler is talking about the need for conservatives like Jordan and Gaetz to “compromise” with the GOP establishment, he and his fellow ruling class RINOs are literally refusing to compromise on virtually every major issue facing the country.
Make no mistake about it, if Mike Lawler and the rest of the Republican establishment gets their way, Democrats will face no resistance whatsoever as they force their entire woke extremist agenda on the American people.
