The #MeToo movement rocked Hollywood and rippled out through the rest of America for a few years.
But it came to a sudden halt when leftists had to play down credible rape accusations against Joe Biden coming from a former Senate staffer.
Now, actor Armie Hammer’s confession about his #MeToo cancellation reveals an ugly truth about the political left.
Armie Hammer was an A-list actor who basically disappeared from Hollywood after he was accused of sexual assault.
His terrifying cannibalist fantasies didn’t help his case.
The situation spun so far out of control that a documentary television series, House of Hammer, was produced tearing into his family.
But apparently the former star has aspirations to rehabilitate his image against all odds.
He began that process with a recent interview with Air Mail.
During the interview Hammer blamed some of his proclivities on being molested as a young teen.
“[A]t the age of 13, Hammer says, a youth pastor at the church his family attended sexually abused him for a period lasting nearly a year. ‘What that did for me was it introduced sexuality into my life in a way that it was completely out of my control . . . I was powerless in the situation. I had no agency in the situation. My interests then went to: I want to have control in the situation, sexually,” Air Mail reported.
It’s no wonder the Left had to ultimately abandon the #MeToo movement.
Leftists are constantly claiming that it’s perfectly normal for teachers and drag queens to introduce children to sexuality and gender identity issues, at a young age even without parental consent.
But Hammer’s comments, highlight the real possibilities of long-term consequences of exposing children to sex in their formative years, regardless of whether it’s abuse.
Hammer says the experiences he went through “set a dangerous precedent in my life . . . [My] sexual interests became about being in control, because being out of control was very dangerous for me and very uncomfortable.”
Hammer does continue to argue that he has never forced a woman to have non-consensual sex with him.
However, that’s still up for debate.
One of Hammer’s exes argues that she struggled with PTSD after her relationship with Hammer, indicating he has a long way to go before absolving himself.
Still, that said, if there’s anywhere someone can get away with perverse behavior and move on with their lives, it’s Hollywood—or Washington, D.C.
