After the riots that took place at the Capitol on Wednesday, January 6, a lot of Republicans are attempting to gain favor with the Radical Left by throwing President Trump under the bus.
Some members of Congress are even apologizing to the Left for previously standing behind the President.
But this one Republican Senator found out the hard way what happens when you try to appease the Leftist mob.
In the days leading up to January 6, Oklahoma Senator James Lankford was one of the Republicans promising to object to Pennsylvania’s Electoral College results to give Trump supporters an opportunity to express their concerns about the state illegally changing their mail-in voting laws before the election.
However, once Capitol police finished removing the rioters and securing the building, Lankford withdrew his objection when Congress reconvened later that night to hold the vote.
But Lankford went one step further than just withdrawing his objection.
Instead, he also penned an apology to the people who live in North Tulsa in an effort to gain favor with the Radical Left.
“What I did not realize was all of the national conversation about states like Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, was seen as casting doubt on the validity of votes coming out of predominantly Black communities like Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Detroit,” said Lankford, essentially admitting that anyone who dared challenge the validity of the election results was trying to suppress the voting rights of black Americans.
He then compared the riot at the Capitol on January 6 to “Black Wall Street,” a horrific event in 1921 where a group of white supremacists massacred an entire community of blacks in Tulsa.
“After decades of fighting for voting rights, many Black friends in Oklahoma saw this as a direct attack on their right to vote, for their vote to matter, and even a belief that their votes made an election in our country illegitimate,” Lankford continued.
“I can assure you, my intent to give a voice to Oklahomans who had questions was never also an intent to diminish the voice of any Black American.”
However, Lankford soon learned that attempting to appease the Left by apologizing simply doesn’t work.
Instead of accepting his apology, Democratric State Representative Monroe Nichols is demanding that Lankford be removed from the 1921 Race Massacre Centennial Committee.
Apologizing to the Radical Left does not work. It only makes them more aggressive.
