Donald Trump recently stood up for American taxpayers by trying to stop the big spenders in the Washington, D.C. Swamp from passing a $2 trillion wasteful spending bill under the guise of a COVID-19 relief package.
Most folks thought Republicans in the Senate, especially conservatives, would join President Trump in fighting the $2 trillion giveaway.
But no one expected this Republican Senator would be the one to knife President Trump in the back.
The recent COVID-19 relief package approved by Congress spending a staggering $2.3 trillion dollars, most of it on wasteful projects and giveaways that infuriated President Trump and conservatives across the country.
Perhaps one of the most infuriating provisions was a section that doled out $1,800 in taxpayer dollars to family members of illegal aliens.
And that provision was authored by none other than Republican Senator Marco Rubio.
Under the agreement, U.S. citizens and green card holders will be able to receive $600 in direct aid, even if they filed a joint tax return with an undocumented spouse, as well as additional $600 checks per dependent child, according to congressional aides and the text of the legislation.
The new compromise would also retroactively make mixed-status families eligible for the $1,200 per household and $500 per child checks allocated by the CARES Act, which was enacted in late March.
Unfortunately, Marco Rubio isn’t trying to back away from or reverse his position.
Instead, he’s bragging about his role in creating the $1,800 taxpayer funded giveaway to family members of illegal aliens.
“No American should have been blocked from receiving federal assistance during a global pandemic because of who they married,” Rubio said, boasting about his role in the provision.
“I thank Senator Tillis and my other Senate colleagues for their leadership in getting this across the finish line,” he concluded.
Of course, Marco Rubio’s handout to family members of illegal aliens is the main reason why President Trump and conservatives were infuriated with the so-called COVID-19 relief package in the first place.
And American outrage with illegal immigration and open borders is what created President Trump’s rise to power in 2016.
But apparently Marco Rubio and establishment RINOs like Thom Tillis didn’t get the message.
