Joe Biden’s open border policies have resulted in millions of illegal aliens swarming into the U.S.
With them have come disease, terrorist threats, and horrific crimes, as many countries have emptied out their jails and sent their violent criminals to our southern border.
But it turns out this strange scheme means illegal aliens are likely responsible for skyrocketing gas prices as well.
Organized crime bosses hiring illegal aliens
It’s a well-known fact that violent drug cartels control much of Northern Mexico.
The lucrative drug business is booming as Americans become more despondent under Joe Biden’s failed economy.
And the drug lords are reinvesting their ill-gotten gains into weapons and tunnels in order to get their illegal products into the U.S.
They are also making a fortune in human trafficking.
But now they have found a new way to rake in the cash: Oil.
They are not drilling new oil wells.
Instead, they are stealing gas and oil from small producers and are being aided by the illegal aliens they bring across the U.S. border.
This is happening daily in the Permian Basin in West Texas.
America’s critical infrastructure under increased attacks
Congressman Tony Gonzales (R-TX) is trying to combat this evil scheme and has introduced legislation to use federal resources to stop the stealing.
These attacks on small independent oil companies are driving them out of business in one of the largest oil production areas of the country.
The Washington Examiner reported Gonzales said “the locals know about this, but they just don’t have the resources to combat it because it’s very sophisticated.”
Expensive oil field equipment is being destroyed for copper and trucks full of gas and oil are being hijacked.
“The Permian Basin is our nation’s most prolific oil-producing region of the country,” the Washington Examiner reported. “This is where we do it. And a lot of people come out here to work. And whether we’re Democrat, Republican, or Independent, most of us want the same things,” Coday said in a phone call with the Washington Examiner. “We want good jobs where we can support our own families. We want good schools for our kids. We want safe communities. Not one of us wants to go to work and wonder if we’re going to come home.”
The violent gangs have not just been ripping off trucks full of gasoline, but they have branched out to pulling off heists at gas stations in the region.
The Washington Examiner reported that “they have these vans that they cut the bottom out of, and they drive over the cap of where the tanks are off to the side. They’ll cut the lock, and they’ll siphon out hundreds of gallons of gas from the gas station.”
The FBI is now looking into this problem because it’s affecting a “critical infrastructure.”
That may be a gross understatement.
Losing the top oil production sites in the country is a critical issue.
If lost, the price of gas will shoot up and impact the entire U.S. economy.
Gonzales is proposing legislation that would increase penalties for stealing oil field equipment as well as for selling stolen oil.
Tracking stolen gas and oil is hard to do because it is a commodity.
It really depends on watching the retailers to make sure they are not fueling the crisis by creating a market for the stolen product.
This means there also will be a crackdown on buyers and sellers to make sure they are not purchasing stolen products.
But the real solution will be taking care of the Biden-Harris border problem.
And that is not something the Democrats have any interest in doing.
