Unfortunately, Comedian and actor Tim Allen’s career had seemingly come to an abrupt end in recent years.

Now he has some major news.

But few expected he’d be back here.

Allen is one the last non-woke funny men left in Hollywood.

After his hugely popular show ‘Last Man Standing’ ended in 2021, Allen’s been searching for his next major project.

And it looks like he has found it.

He just took to social media to announce that he’s going to be back on network television starring in a brand new sitcom.

Tim Allen announces his new ABC sitcom

Allen said that ABC had picked up the pilot for his new sitcom called ‘Shifting Gears.’

“We are at it again! ABC just ordered a comedy pilot, ’Shifting Gears,’” Allen wrote on X which included a link to a Variety article about the show.

Allen is set to both star in and serve as the executive producer for ‘Shifting Gears,’ which Variety said was a working title for the show.

In the show, Allen will star as Matt, the “stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s estranged daughter and her teenage kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.”

If the sitcom is in fact picked up by ABC, it will be his third sitcom on the network.

Will this be his third big ABC hit?

Allen became one of the biggest sitcom stars in the country in the 1990s when he starred as Tim “The Toolman” Taylor on the ABC hit show ‘Home Improvement,’ which aired from 1991 to 1999.

Then, Allen returned to the network as a conservative dad on the huge hit show ‘Last Man Standing,’ which ran on ABC from 2011 to 2017 before it was mysteriously canceled despite being a ratings success for the network.

The show was picked up by Fox and continued to be a huge success.

This raised questions about whether it was canceled by ABC because of Allen’s conservative political views.

The Home Improvement star is a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump.

“I wouldn’t say that was the deciding factor,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said about Allen’s political leanings when the show was canceled.

Allen has said he was “stunned” and “blindsided” when ABC decided to cancel ‘Last Man Standing.’

He has also previously said that it was tough being a conservative in Hollywood.

“You’ve gotta be real careful around here,” Allen said on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2017. “You get beat up if you don’t believe what everybody believes. This is like ’30s Germany. I don’t know what happened. If you’re not part of the group, ‘You know what we believe is right,’ I go, ‘Well, I might have a problem with that.’”

Allen’s conservatism and his willingness to speak out about it are refreshing in an industry controlled by the radical left.

It’s a hopeful sign that ABC has decided to pick up Allen’s new show, now let’s see if they will continue to run it.
