President Trump delivered a landslide victory over Kamala Harris in November that shocked Democrats to their core.
But conservatives can't afford to get comfortable.
And Tim Burchett just dropped a reality bomb on Christians and gun owners that will leave you speechless.
Republican Congressman delivers uncomfortable truth about voter apathy
U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN) didn't hold back during his Saturday night appearance on Fox News' The Big Weekend Show.
The Tennessee Congressman delivered a blunt warning about America's future that every conservative needs to hear.
"The problem basically is, it's on us!" Burchett declared.¹
And he didn't stop there.
The numbers Burchett laid out paint a disturbing picture of conservative voter apathy that threatens everything Trump's winning in Washington, D.C.
"When 12% of the population goes to the polls, 45% of so-called evangelical Christians don't go to the polls, 30% of gun owners don't go to the polls, we have 12% of the population deciding who is elected, who's our judges, who's in Congress. It's a nightmare," Burchett explained.¹
That means nearly half of evangelicals and a third of gun owners are sitting on the sidelines while Democrats are fighting tooth and nail to seize power.
These aren't just numbers from some think tank study.
The 2024 election data backs up Burchett's warning with hard evidence.
While Trump secured a commanding 80% of white evangelical voters, the overall turnout among self-identified Christians actually dropped from 64% in 2020 to just 56% in 2024.²
Think about that for a moment.
Trump won because Democrats did even worse at getting their people to vote.
But conservatives can't count on that happening again.
The warning Reagan gave that's coming true
Burchett invoked Ronald Reagan's prophetic words about how quickly America could lose its freedom.
"[Former President Ronald] Reagan talked about losing it in one generation. We could lose this country in one vote series," Burchett warned.¹
He's talking about the 2026 midterms.
And Burchett painted a stark picture of what happens if Democrats capture the House and Senate.
"If the Democrats were to take over in the House and the Senate, it would be over for this country right now because they have sold their soul to the devil," Burchett stated.¹
Those aren't just fighting words from a partisan politician.
Burchett backed up his assessment with a devastating critique of today's Democrat Party.
"They don't live this flag, they don't love our country, they don't respect our borders, and they just think America is just a big cash cow," the Tennessee Congressman said.¹
Look at what Democrats are doing right now.
They're blocking Trump's Cabinet nominees, weaponizing judges to stop his agenda, and sanctuary cities are still harboring illegal aliens.
The Left isn't just opposing Trump's policies.
They're actively working to destroy the America First movement before it can fully take root.
Democrats just proved Burchett's point about their hatred of America
Burchett didn't just talk in abstractions about Democrat radicalism.
He pointed to the brutal murder of Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom to show exactly what he means.
The 20-year-old National Guard member was shot in Washington, D.C. on November 26 by an Afghan national who Biden let into the country.
She died from her wounds the next day on Thanksgiving.
Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, ambushed Beckstrom and Air Force Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe on November 26 near the White House as they patrolled the nation's capital.³
Beckstrom succumbed to her wounds on Thanksgiving Day.
Wolfe remains hospitalized fighting for his life.
But here's what has Burchett fired up.
Democrats won't even acknowledge their role in creating the situation that got Beckstrom killed.
"They won't even apologize. They won't even say they're sorry that this young lady lost her life in service to our great country," Burchett explained.¹
Instead, Democrat politicians are telling federal employees to defy Trump's orders.
The same party that opened the borders and let dangerous individuals flood into America now refuses to take responsibility when their policies lead to tragedy.
Lakanwal came to the United States in 2021 under Biden's Operation Allies Welcome after the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.³
The Biden administration claimed he was properly vetted.
But a young American soldier paid with her life for their incompetence.
And Democrats act like it's just the cost of doing business for their open borders agenda.
"These people are Marxists; they're openly against our country, they hate our military, they hate our border control – they hate everything about it," Burchett said.¹
What happens when conservatives sit home on Election Day
Burchett's warning boils down to a simple reality.
When Christians and gun owners don't vote, America gets Democrat policies that wreck everything Trump's trying to fix.
Those 45% of evangelicals who stayed home could have made even bigger waves in 2024.
That 30% of gun owners who didn't bother voting could have delivered even stronger majorities to support Trump's agenda.
"Folks better wake up or we're gonna lose our dadgum country. And this is not some conspiracy theory. This is a reality," Burchett stated.¹
The Congressman sees what's coming if conservatives get complacent.
Democrats are planning to rebuild America into what Burchett called "some elitist woke-a-topia that their university types can run."¹
That means more DEI mandates, more open borders, more attacks on religious liberty, and more erosion of Second Amendment rights.
All because too many conservatives couldn't be bothered to spend 30 minutes at the polls.
"We are one flu season away from truly losing the republic, because the Left – which is the Democrat Party – is not your granddad's Democrats anymore," Burchett warned.¹
Trump's got a year to deliver results before the 2026 midterms.
If Christians and gun owners sit that election out, Democrats will seize Congress and stop Trump cold.
And America won't get another chance to fix what gets broken.
