Hollywood just got hit with another tragedy that has everyone asking questions.
The details emerging are deeply disturbing.
And Tommy Lee Jones' daughter was found lifeless in a hotel and what the guest thought will make you sick.
Academy Award-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones started 2026 with the worst news any parent can receive.
His 34-year-old daughter Victoria Kafka Jones was found dead in the hallway of San Francisco's luxury Fairmont Hotel in the early morning hours of New Year's Day.
But the circumstances surrounding her death just keep getting stranger as more information comes to light.
Hotel guest mistook lifeless body for drunk woman
San Francisco Fire Department paramedics responded to a medical emergency call at the Fairmont Hotel at 2:52 a.m. on January 1.
Victoria Jones was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics conducted an assessment.
Sources told the Daily Mail that hotel guests who discovered Victoria's body initially thought she was drunk.
No drug paraphernalia was found on or around her body according to law enforcement sources.
The San Francisco Police Department arrived at 3:14 a.m. and confirmed an adult female had been declared deceased.
Officers said they did not suspect foul play.
The Medical Examiner's Office took over the investigation but has not released a cause of death.
The Fairmont Hotel issued a statement saying they were "deeply saddened" and that the hotel team was "actively cooperating and supporting police authorities."
Victoria was the daughter of Tommy Lee Jones and his second wife Kimberlea Cloughley, to whom he was married from 1981 to 1996.
She made her acting debut at age 11 in her father's sci-fi comedy Men in Black II in 2002.
Victoria also appeared in a 2003 episode of One Tree Hill and had a role in the 2005 Western The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, which was directed by her father.
Troubled year preceded mysterious death
Court records paint a disturbing picture of Victoria's final months.
She was arrested at least three times in 2025 across Napa and Santa Cruz counties in California.
In April, Victoria was arrested in Napa County for obstructing a peace officer while under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a narcotic controlled substance.¹
She was arrested again in May in Santa Cruz County, though details of that incident were not fully disclosed.
In June, Victoria was taken into custody in Napa County on charges of domestic battery and domestic violence/elder abuse.²
She pleaded not guilty in both Napa County cases and was later released on bail.
Tommy Lee Jones recalled working with his daughter during the filming of The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada in a 2005 interview with the New Yorker.
"She had to get up at 5am for her part," Jones told the magazine. "One morning, she wouldn't get out of bed. I said, 'Honey, this is work.' But she wouldn't budge."³
"So I fired her. Then, without telling me, the production staff went over and woke her and rushed her out to the set just in time," Jones joked.
Victoria stepped back from acting after 2005 but continued appearing at red carpets with her father over the years.
She attended the premiere of Just Getting Started in 2017 alongside her dad and his current wife Dawn Laurel-Jones.
Tommy Lee Jones has not made any public statements about his daughter's death.
The family has requested privacy while the Medical Examiner works to determine the exact cause of Victoria's death.
The 79-year-old actor won an Oscar and Golden Globe for his role in The Fugitive and has appeared in films including JFK, Lincoln, No Country for Old Men, and In the Valley of Elah.
San Francisco police are asking anyone with information related to the case to contact them at 415-575-4444.
