Many have speculated that Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift is a calculated next step in what some reports have revealed as his decades-long plan to be “as famous as The Rock.”

As a matter of fact the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s own actions seem to prove it.

And Travis Kelce raised eyebrows when he made this jaw-dropping announcement about his future outside of football.

Back in January, The Daily Mail released a report that claimed to expose Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s decades-long plan and maneuvering to “become as famous as [WWE superstar turned Hollywood actor Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson].”

According to the report, Kelce met twin brothers Andre and Aaron Eanes while still at the University of Cincinnati, immediately making them his “managers” and set out to chase fame.

When Kelce whined during a 2022 trip to Los Angeles that he didn’t believe he’d “ever be as famous as The Rock,” the twins assured him, “Yes, you will,” and set out to take their plan to the next level.

From there, Kelce entered into a relationship with pop star Taylor Swift, sending his celebrity status to the next level, and causing the NFL player to go all-in on cashing in on the opportunity.

Since entering his relationship with Swift, the New York Times has reported that Kelce has now hired five agents, as well as “a creative strategist, a community outreach coordinator, a Los Angeles-based publicist, a personal chef and a trainer,” in order to raise his profile and become a Hollywood actor.

He’s also cashed in with seven national television commercials – including ad spots for both Pfizzer and Bud Light – launched a clothing brand, and even secured a guest-hosting gig on Saturday Night Live, while also registering trademarks on five of his “catchphrases” and his own name.

“People say to me, ‘Man, it’s been a crazy year,” Aaron Eanes told The Daily Mail. “When I say, ‘Actually, it’s not that crazy,’ people look at me funny. It’s because it’s easy when you have a plan. We’re executing that plan.”

And in another move that seems to add fuel to the fire, Amazon has announced that Kelce will host their Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader spinoff, Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity.

In the announcement, Kelce stressed how excited he was “to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons.”

“The original show is a great success, so to be bringing a new format with everyone’s favorite celebrities to the screen, will definitely be entertaining,” Kelce said. “I’m just happy to be on the hosting side of the equation here and excited to see how these famous faces keep up.”

Amazon MGM Studios’ head of Amazon video on-demand original content and programming Lauren Anderson touted Kelce as an “incredible talent on and off the field.”

“Travis has proven to be an incredible talent on and off the field, and we appreciate the trust he has placed in us with his first foray into television. His natural, comedic dynamic with our panelists and guests, coupled with some exciting new twists, will keep our global customers coming back week after week.”

Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? was obviously a major success for Fox during the show’s original three-season run with comedian Jeff Foxworthy as its host from 2007 and 2009.

But past efforts to revive the show, including a short-lived, one season revival on Nickelodeon with WWE superstar turned Hollywood actor John Cena as host in 2019, haven’t replicated the original show’s success.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Travis Kelce-hosted version of the show will suffer a similar fate.

One thing that is for sure, though, is that his decades-long quest to be “as famous as The Rock” continues.
