Former Congressman Trey Gowdy has found himself on the opposite side of Donald Trump more than once.
Gowdy must have known he might not be able to weasel himself out of the latest controversy.
But Trey Gowdy announced a decision on Fox News that made Donald Trump’s jaw hit the floor.
The Deep State leans on Department of Justice and FBI to target Donald Trump
The Department of Justice (DOJ) and their lead agency, the FBI, were all sources of power for the Deep State who conspired to shut down Donald Trump.
Due to the terrible performances by his Attorneys General during his first term in office, the FBI had the ability to run a campaign of destruction against Trump via the bogus Russian collusion hoax, while working PR for Joe Biden by forcing Facebook and Twitter to shut down any discussion over the New York Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020.
The story, which they claimed to be a source of a Russian disinformation campaign, ultimately resulted with charges against Hunter Biden that were dismissed following a pardon issued by his father, President Joe Biden.
Biden, then, took the political persecution to an all new level when he weaponized the DOJ and FBI, alongside Attorney General Merrick Garland, by ordering the FBI to storm Mar-a-Lago over the phony classified documents hoax.
Jack Smith was then chosen by Biden and Garland to be their barking dog in court, and was subsequently ordered to indict and prosecute Donald Trump repeatedly to try and shut down his electoral odds leading up to the 2024 election.
But that wasn’t the only tactic pursued by the Deep State.
Where Gowdy went wrong
Trey Gowdy piled on with those behind the massive pressure campaign to tank Matt Gaetz’s nomination as Donald Trump’s next Attorney General.
Gowdy made it clear that he was disgusted by the attempt to place Gaetz at the helm of the Department of Justice in order to clean shop of all the political persecutors that targeted Donald Trump and his supporters over the last decade.
Every single time Gowdy appeared on Fox News, he would rant over how much he hated that Gaetz was nominated, all while demanding that Senate Republicans refuse approval to the post assignment.
Senate RINO’s repeatedly used Gowdy’s rants as cover to defend the Deep State against a potential Gaetz administrative assignment, despite Donald Trump working overtime to try and lock in the necessary votes for Gaetz.
In the end, Gaetz decided to withdraw his nomination after a week of fierce political battle.
Many supporters of Donald Trump believe that Gowdy wanted to protect the FBI from any reforms.
Gowdy had previously worked as a federal prosecutor, which many believe essentially puts him alongside the Deep State when it comes to decisions surrounding the FBI and the DOJ.
Supporters of President-elect Trump feared that Gowdy’s comments in defense of the FBI during the Russian Collusion hoax, dating back to when he served in Congress, meant dangerous things were coming for the upcoming Trump administration.
“I am more convinced that the FBI did what my fellow citizens would want them to do when they got the information they got and that it has nothing to do with Donald Trump,” stated Gowdy at the time during a Fox News segment.
But Gowdy is well aware that he can only push so far with his RINO philosophy.
Trey Gowdy catches everyone off guard with praise of Trump pick for FBI chief
Following Trump’s decision to nominate Kash Patel as Director of the FBI, Gowdy made a shocking decision – he proudly endorsed the appointment.
Gowdy explained on Fox News that he believed Patel was a powerful and strong staffer on the House Intelligence Committee when the former Congressman had served on its panel.
Gowdy also touted Patel’s background in investigations, noting his prior role as a federal prosecutor in the Justice Department’s national security division and his award for terrorist prosecutions.
He believed this made him more than qualified to serve at the top of the domestic investigations agency.
“I worked elbow to elbow with Kash – former federal prosecutor, former federal public defender, unique background – I think he has been unfairly maligned,” Gowdy proudly stated. “He will have a confirmation hearing and we shall see what comes out.”
Gowdy would then go on to explain to viewers that Patel was to receive credit for the House Intelligence Committee’s discovery that the Steele dossier was actually bought and paid for by the Clinton campaign.
He added that Patel blew the lid on the FBI illegal spying operation that targeted the Trump campaign.
“We wouldn’t know about the Steele dossier if it wasn’t for Kash Patel,” concluded Gowdy.
Gowdy’s words of endorsement for Patel could play a critical role of encouragement for Senate RINOs to approve Patel’s nomination.
