Trey Gowdy sailed over the edge at the insane turn of events happening in Congress

The American people have a hard time wrapping their heads around what is going on in Congress right now.

But some who should know exactly how to make sense of it all seem to want to keep pointing fingers in the wrong directions.

Trey Gowdy went ballistic on Fox News

Gowdy was asked by Fox News’ Rich Edson what he thought about Georgia Republican Congresswoman Majorie Taylor Greene introducing a motion to ‘vacate the chair’ in a recent discussion.

The motion to vacate the chair would effectively kick Republican Representative Mike Johnson from the role as Speaker of the House, similar to what recently happened to former Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

Representative Greene’s motion comes after Speaker Johnson politically surrendered to President Joe Biden by authorizing a $1.2 trillion spending bill that would fund the massive number of illegal aliens pouring into the country.

Also included in the bill was a federal red flag gun confiscation scheme, not to mention some major giveaways to radical transgender ideology that has been on the rise in America.

Rather than understanding why Americans would be so outraged over Speaker Johnson sticking his fingerprints all over these brash attacks on the Constitution, giving up the fight over radical transgender ideology, and surrendering at the border, Gowdy chose a different path.

Instead, Gowdy attacked conservatives who felt as though Speaker Johnson had abandoned their platform, effectively stabbing party voters right in the back.

Former Representative Gowdy insisted that the true problem was actually supporters of former President Donald Trump who elected to support real conservatives in primary elections across the country.

“I mean, you know, Speaker Johnson – Speaker McCarthy, I think, got a better deal,” argued Gowdy on Fox News. “Remember, they got rid of him. Rich, all you got to do is look back to November. November Midterms where the House Republicans underperformed.”

“So, if you’re wondering why you’re trying to negotiate against Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden it’s because Republicans can’t pick the right candidate and they can’t win elections. And now the margin is, what, razor-thin in the House. They’re on the verge of losing the House,” continued the former GOP Speaker prospect.

“You want to see a bad budget bill? Let the Democrats control the House, the Senate, and the White House. They got nobody to blame but themselves, picking wrong candidates, running bad races, and losing winnable elections.”

Believe it or not, Gowdy has actually been a longstanding supporter of so-called red flag gun confiscation laws, so it makes sense that he would rush to Speaker Johnson’s defense.

Gowdy, himself a former Congressman, directed fire in the direction of Republican Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, due to his previous motion that resulted in the ousting of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy due to his failure to keep his promise on future spending.

“So, look, I like Mike Johnson. He was a great colleague. He is a wonderful person,” Gowdy added. “You and I would not be talking about Speaker Mike Johnson had it not been for Matt Gaetz and seven of his comrades who decided to pursue fame and get rid of Kevin McCarthy.”

“What have they gotten as a result of that? How has the House been improved?” argued the former Congressman.

“What person that can pass a competency test would want to be the Speaker of the House? What person who could actually pass a psychiatric competency test would want to lead a group that includes Matt Gaetz and Bob Good and some of the other people that you just showed?”

“I mean, Mike Johnson is as good as it gets. You had a Speaker. Remember, you had Kevin McCarthy.

And you wanted to get rid of him and Jimmy Jordan wasn’t good enough and Tom Emmer and Steve Scalise. No, you got Mike Johnson,” concluded Gowdy.

It seems obvious that Washington, D.C. elitists are swarming Speaker Mike Johnson like vultures now that he displayed in full view his inability to hold the line.
Now that they know he is just another weak Republican that is easy to push around, the swamp has indicated that they are ready to take full advantage.

The Democrats could not be happier with Mike Johnson after he has been delivering them win after win on every spending fight there has been.
