Ever since Donald Trump conceded the election, the GOP has been trying to get their ducks in a row to move forward.
Republicans from all backgrounds have different ideas.
And Trey Gowdy went on television and made one head-scratching statement about the GOP that you have to see.
While on Fox News, the former South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy shared that he hopes the Republican Party will stay true to conservative policy and expose the Left’s blatantly socialist and anti-American platform.
Gowdy pointed out that, despite politics being a game of attacks right now, voters still want to hear what your ideas are and why you believe in those ideas.
“Part of politics is telling voters how bad the other side is, but that’s about all I hear now. I think voters want to hear [about] what do you believe, why do we believe it, and then engage in that very difficult task of persuading people that our ideas are better . . . But at a certain point, you may win . . . You may be given the right to govern,” Gowdy began.
However, Gowdy took a strange turn.
The former GOP congress member pointed to three RINOs to lead the Republican Party moving forward – former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, Senator of Arkansas Tom Cotton, and Senator of South Carolina Tim Scott.
“That’s my challenge for the party, is, if you wanted to stump me with a question, ask me what the modern Republican Party believes, with consistency, cycle after cycle, and then ask me who those defining voices are,” Gowdy continued. “You just heard one, [Sen.] Tommy Cotton, [a] really smart, young leader. So is [Sen.] Tim Scott, Nikki Haley. But most of the voices in the conservative movement have never held political office before.”
This is certainly a head scratcher.
After Donald Trump swept the rug out from under the feet of the radical Left and Hillary Clinton in 2016, and stormed his way to a massive 75 million votes in 2020, Gowdy thinks those three RINOs are the answer moving forward.
But every time the GOP nominates a wishy-washy conservatives to run in the Presidential election, they get blown out just like Mitt Romney and John McCain.
The Romneys and McCains of the world don’t drive conservatives to the polls.
They drive voters to vote for the opposition that the Fake News Media will peddle as more “honest” and “in touch” with Americans like Barack Obama.
If the GOP wants to move forward to actually defend conservative policy in America, they have a path to follow set by the Trump administration of putting America first.
