Now, Bill Barr just smacked one crooked prosecutor with the truth about her witch hunt targeting Donald Trump.
Democrats are hell-bent on making sure they thwart Donald Trump’s attempt at making a political comeback.
The former President’s native state is leading the charge as New York’s Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat, has made harassing the Trump Organization the focal point of her life.
James has spent more time running her mouth about bombshell criminal charges coming Trump’s way than actually doing anything useful in office.
But somehow, nothing she’s tried has stuck.
Now she’s had to back off of criminal charges and settle for slapping Trump with a frivolous lawsuit in civil court.
James is going after Donald Trump, his children, former company CFO Allen Weisselberg, and Trump organization controller Jeffrey McConney claiming they inflated Trump’s net worth by billions “to unjustly enrich himself and cheat the system.”
If anyone is cheating, it seems likely the person behind that ridiculous lawsuit is the biggest suspect.
And the deeper you dig the more outrageous the whole situation gets.
James’ lawsuit is based on the premise that Trump inflated his net worth to get more favorable loans, get better insurance deals, and to pay lower taxes.
(If that’s how she thinks the system works, it might be time to audit James’ tax filings.)
From a political perspective, this bogus civil lawsuit is nothing more than a desperate attempt on James’ part to salvage her political career after she spent three years investigating Trump for criminal activity and came up empty handed.
According to former Trump Attorney General Bill Barr this lawsuit is nothing more or less than a “political hit job.”
“It’s hard for me not to conclude it’s a political hit job, and this is a woman who campaigned for office saying promising she was going to go after Trump, which I think is a tremendous abuse of office to go head hunting and targeting individuals,” Barr said during an appearance on Fox News.
In fact, James’ entire campaign for New York Attorney General in 2018 centered around her promise to use the position to go after Donald Trump.
Even during her election night victory speech she claimed she would “be shining a bright light into every dark corner of [Trump’s] real estate dealings, and every dealing, demanding truthfulness at every turn.”
“So I think she was targeting Trump, and this is after three years a civil lawsuit, the gist of which is when the Trump organization borrowed money, Trump personally guaranteed those loans,” Barr said.
As James has discovered, the truth isn’t on her side.
So now she’s finally resorted to manufacturing a “crime” on behalf of the Trump Family—a strategy Barr believes she will live to regret.
“This looks to me like gross overreach, which I think is going to end up backfiring on them. I think it will make people sympathetic for Trump, another example of people piling on because of Trump derangement syndrome, you know, the strong entire to punish him,” Barr argued.
James has gone so far in her manic quest against Trump even the political hacks over at CNN have started admitting she’s in the wrong.
James “has politicized this investigation,” CNN Senior Legal Analyst Elie Honig explained. “She campaigned on ‘vote for me and I’ll nail Donald Trump.’ She had fundraised on it.”
Even CNN host John King agreed that James has overstepped her bounds.
Unhinged leftists like James are proving they will stoop to any low to take down Donald Trump.
But they might just be hitting a wall as Americans take in their deranged stunts in shock.
