Donald Trump is under fire from establishment players who want to force him out of politics for good.
In the current situation, anyone who has helped the former President in the past is a target.
Democrats are waging lawfare against former President Donald Trump in an all-out effort to keep him off the ballot in 2024—and ideally put him behind bars instead.
In order to do that one activist District Attorney is going after everyone she can in the Republican’s sphere of influence hoping to get someone to spill some incriminating information.
Fulton County, Georgia is putting pressure on Trump associates by using RICO laws—a particularly harsh set of charges—against Trump and his supporters.
Deploying the RICO charges increases the probability of a conviction, however that strategy could ultimately backfire on Willis since there’s also an increased likelihood an appellate court would overturn a conviction.
But for now the RICO charges are allowing the Democrat prosecutor to treat Trump like a mob boss and criminally prosecute his lawyers.
Now one of Trump’s former lawyers just took the bait agreeing to a plea deal in exchange for testifying against her former client.
Once Sidney Powell was a respected attorney, but in recent days she’s better known for muttering inspiring countless social media memes after muttering “Release the Kraken.”
It’s also been revealed exactly how she also managed to avoid jail time after being charged in Willis’ election interference case.
According to the Wall Street Journal “Powell agreed to testify against other defendants in the case and hand over any relevant documents. She accepted six years of probation, a $6,000 fine and an apology letter to the state of Georgia. She will also be required to pay $2,700 in restitution, which the state plans to use to pay to replace the voting machines breached in the alleged criminal conspiracy after the 2020 election—the foundation of the charges against her.”
Clint Rucker, a former Fulton County prosecutor, predicts this is only the first of numerous betrayals Trump will experience.
“It’s a domino effect…She won’t be the last person on the indictment who will look themselves in the mirror and choose themselves and their families rather than to remain loyal to the narrative they were pushing in 2020…She’s not going to get up there and exonerate anybody,” Rucker told the Wall Street Journal.
It is noteworthy that Trump’s current legal team isn’t panicking over this development.
Trump attorney Steve Sadow says as long as Powell doesn’t commit perjury her testimony won’t hurt his client’s case.
“Assuming truthful testimony in the Fulton County case, it will be favorable to my overall defense strategy,” Sadow argued.
Sadow has good reason to feel confident and unless she can pull off something dramatic at the last minute, the current strategy may ultimately leave both women looking foolish.
Even before Tucker Carlson was pulled off the air over at Fox News, the popular host noted that Powell had damaged her credibility by making accusations but failing to provide any evidence.
Carlson explained that Powell “never sent us any evidence, despite a lot of polite requests. When we kept pressing, she got angry and told us to stop contacting her. When we checked with others around the Trump campaign, people in positions of authority, they also told us Powell had never given them any evidence to prove anything she claimed at the press conference. Powell did say that electronic voting is dangerous, and she’s right, but she never demonstrated that a single actual vote was moved illegitimately by software from one candidate to another. Not one. Why are we telling you this? We’re telling you this because it’s true, and in the end, that’s all that matters.”
Plenty of people are still waiting for Powell to “Release the Kraken” but it seems Trump’s current legal team isn’t convinced it will amount to anything worth writing home about.
