It’s now been over six months since an unnamed Capitol police officer shot and killed Ashli Babbitt at the January 6 protest.
Americans across the country don’t understand why the officer responsible hasn’t been officially unmasked.
And Trump supporters’ jaws dropped over what this top Republican said about the Ashli Babbitt shooting.
North Dakota Republican Senator Kevin Cramer shocked listeners with his response to a caller during a recent radio interview.
The caller demanded to know the identity of Ashli Babbitt’s shooter.
Despite the mainstream media labeling January 6 an unprecedented act of violence and insurrection, Babbitt, an unarmed protester, was the only person killed inside the Capitol by police.
Many Americans are rightly pointing out the hypocrisy behind keeping Babbitt’s killer’s name withheld from the public.
Most police officer’s names are released to the public when they are involved in on-the-job shootings.
But since Babbitt’s death goes against the Left’s narrative, they are keeping tight-lipped about the officer who shot her, whatever it takes.
Cramer asked the caller why he wanted to know the officer’s name so bad.
“Because I’m a citizen of the United States,” the caller responded. “That’s why I have a right to know. Why don’t I have a right to know? Why don’t you tell me that?”
Cramer defended the shooting and shooter in response, stating:
“The person that shot her is a police officer shooting a criminal not complying with officers telling her, ‘Stop. Don’t come through that window. We have guns drawn. Don’t do it.’ They’re protecting people, and the officer was found to be innocent of wrongdoing. So then what would be the purpose of releasing that officer’s name? What do you need to know the officer’s name for?”
The caller didn’t let Cramer bully him and shot back, answering:
“Well, because we know everybody else’s name if a police officer shoots a citizen of this country. I mean, crying out loud, if you shoot an illegal alien, we’re going to know that police officer’s name. This is a police officer that shot someone in our capitol and his name is being withheld.”
Cramer wasn’t convinced however, and even said he was “grateful” for the officer who shot Air Force vet Babbitt in the neck.
Cramer’s statements are sure to draw ire from many who feel he’s helping feed Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats’ narrative that Trump supporters should be treated as terrorists.
