There’s long been speculation about Tucker Carlson mounting a 2024 bid.
That speculation is sure to heat up even more now that Carlson is no longer at Fox News.
Just ahead of the bombshell that Fox had fired him breaking, Tucker Carlson announced some curious news about the 2024 GOP race.
Another Republican recently joined the Presidential field – a Republican who’s also a conservative host.
Popular conservative talk show host Larry Elder is one of the most prominent black conservative voices in the nation.
And he is no stranger to the political stage.
Elder ran for Governor of California in 2021 and helped push Democrat Gavin Newsom into a runoff.
Newsom won that race, but Elder promised at the time no one had seen the last of him in the political arena.
And we didn’t have to wait long for Elder to join the political fray.
Elder kept his word and recently announced his intention to run for the GOP nomination for President in 2024.
“I am announcing I am running for the Presidency of the United States,” Elder told Carlson. “I feel I have a moral, religious, patriotic duty to give back to a country that’s been so good to my family and me. That’s why I am doing this.”
Elder then laid out his platform of being strongly Pro-Life, fighting back against the Left’s woke lies, stopping Joe Biden’s Marxist Green New Deal, and ending the control of the powerful teachers union bosses running America’s schools.
“I am Pro-Life, don’t buy the notion America is systematically racist, because I want to secure borders, because I want us to be energy independent, your urban schools are a disaster,” Elder added.
Elder also slammed Democrats for trying to continually bribe voters with “free” lunches through taxpayer-funded welfare programs that have left America more than $31 trillion in debt.
“Democrats want to give you something for nothing. You try to get something for nothing, you end up getting nothing for something,” Elder said.
Now Larry Elder’s mission will be to build enough support among grassroots activists and donors to qualify for the first GOP debate in August which will be held in Milwaukee.
Elder built a national following with his radio show, which was nationally syndicated on the Salem radio network.
But it is still uncertain if the Trump-supporting Elder will make the GOP debate stage.
Especially now that rumors are circulating that Tucker Carlson may be joining the GOP nomination fight.
Carlson was unceremoniously fired from Fox News, setting off a firestorm of rumors about the popular talk show host’s future.
As the GOP 2024 field becomes ever more crowded, many are wondering if a Tucker Carlson run will overshadow many of the others already announced.
There is no question Carlson has a devout and loyal listening audience of millions, but will those listeners also support him in a presidential run?
