No one on cable news took the Chinese coronavirus as seriously as Tucker Carlson.
As the outbreak is sweeping across the country, his assessment is sobering.
Now Tucker Carlson just dropped a truth bomb on Fox News viewers. And it’s proving a tough pill to swallow.
Tucker Carlson sounded the alarm early and often about the threat the Chinese coronavirus posed to Americans.
But that doesn’t mean he’s supportive of every government effort to fight back against it.
Carlson expressed his dismay with the city of Philadelphia announcing the police would no longer arrest criminals for violent crimes like burglary and theft.
“In many cities, authorities are actually ordering police to stop protecting the public, to stop doing their jobs. In the city of Philadelphia, police have been ordered to avoid arrest, even for significant crimes: drug offenses and prostitution obviously are tolerated. But now burglary and car theft is getting a pass,” Carlson began.
Of course, Philadelphia isn’t the only left-wing city giving criminals a pass because of the Chinese coronavirus outbreak.
“In Los Angeles county, that’s a jurisdiction with 9 million people living there, the sheriff’s department is only arresting 60 people a day. In a jurisdiction of 9 million. That’s down from 300 a day before the coronavirus,” Carlson added.
Carlson went on to warn what would happen when there are “millions of teenagers with nothing to do […] So how will they behave when they realize they can loot stores, steal cars, or trash public places without police responding to it? What do you think this is? You know what it is. It is a recipe for chaos, and people can feel it.”
Government exists to protect the life and liberty of its citizens.
But if, during a time of fear and panic, unruly thugs are allowed free rein over the streets without consequence, civil unrest may result from the policies officials are enacting to fight the coronavirus.
