Fox News fired Tucker Carlson and he immediately got multiple job offers.
And right now, everyone is trying to figure out where Tucker will land.
Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch unexpectedly fired wildly popular host Tucker Carlson.
While a number of theories as to why have been circulating, one thing is for sure, Fox made a tactical, and financial blunder.
Tucker Carlson is bigger than Fox, and in fact many Fox subscribers canceled their subscriptions after he was fired, costing the network millions.
Some believe that is exactly why Murdoch fired Carlson; to prove no host was bigger than the network.
Others believe Carlson was let go as damage control for the lawsuits Fox News faced over 2020 election integrity issues.
And still others believe it is part of Murdoch’s purge of all pro-Trump hosts to try and help Ron DeSantis win the 2024 GOP nomination.
Establishment Republicans of Murdoch’s liking view the 2024 GOP Primaries as a chance to purge Trump and his supporters from the GOP.
And some believe Murdoch simply played his part in that scheme by firing Tucker Carlson and by letting Dan Bongino’s contract expire.
But within hours of Fox News showing their most popular host the door, Carlson already had a number of high-profile job offers.
Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts told the Daily Signal he shared the conservative movement’s shock at the news of Tucker Carlson’s firing.
Roberts said he was “confident Tucker will find a new platform to challenge the Washington regime, ask tough questions, and hold the ruling elite accountable.”
And then Roberts said there is an open job offer for Tucker Carlson to join Heritage any time he wanted.
“To the man himself, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there will always be a home here for you, Tucker,” Roberts added.
Roberts pointed out that Carlson spoke at Heritage’s 50th anniversary gala at the same time his final program aired on Fox News last Friday night.
Many believe it was this speech that finally threw Murdoch over the edge.
Others believe Tucker gave the speech because he already knew he was done at Fox.
Either way, Tucker’s speech has gone viral.
“We at Heritage were honored to have Tucker Carlson speak for our 50th anniversary gala as his last show ran on Fox News,” Roberts said.
In a moment of foreshadowing perhaps, at the Heritage event on Friday Roberts joked with Carlson saying that should his career at Fox News end badly he could always join the Heritage Foundation as a scholar.
“If things go south at Fox News, there’s always a job for you at Heritage,” Roberts told Carlson three days before he was officially let go by Fox.
“Well, you’ve saved me before,” Carlson laughed in response.
Neither man knew there was far more truth in Roberts’ offer.
Fox News ousted Carlson just 48-hours later.
Now the big question is, what is next for Tucker Carlson?
