Tucker Carlson is hunting down leads like never before.
And this time it’s personal after a shocking rumor was leaked about his family.
Washington, D.C. is practically vibrating with uncertainty and expectation as the critical Midterm elections approach.
Now the jockeying to be the majority whip in the US House of Representatives if Republicans gain control is getting downright ferocious.
Two men battling to position themselves for the coveted job include National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Tom Emmer (R-MN) and Congressman and Republican Study Committee Chairman Jim Banks (R-IN).
Recently the Daily Beast reported that the behind-the-scenes elbow jabbing to get into position included a snarky claim from a GOP strategist coming down on Rep. Banks for hiring Tucker Carlson’s 24-year-old son, Buckley.
The strategist claimed the hire was triggered by nepotism.
“Deep down, he dies to be liked by the establishment,” the Republican strategist told the Daily Beast. “He hires Tucker Carlson’s son, a 24-year-old kid, to be his communications director.”
Carlson was furious when he heard about the smear against his son and let Rep. Emmer know it according to an Axios report.
Carlson demanded Emmer tell him the name of the strategist who went after his son in the corporate-controlled press in order to attack Rep. Banks.
But Emmer refused, claiming he didn’t know who made the comment.
Carlson didn’t buy that line and told the representative that he would have to hold him personally responsible for the attack on his son.
“Emmer repeatedly asserted to Carlson that his office had nothing to do with the background quote about Carlson’s son,” Axios reported. “Carlson was unpersuaded. He made clear to Emmer that he now had a personal problem with him. In an effort to pacify Carlson, Emmer worked to distance his office from the quote — and even to shift blame to another member of leadership’s staff, according to two sources familiar with his private comments. Carlson does not believe this and still blames Emmer for the story.”
All this drama coming out is the surest sign that a Republican Wave is about to slam ashore and even the corporate-controlled press is recognizing it’s something they’ll be forced to contend with soon.
