Leftist District Attorneys across the nation have been slinging mud at Donald Trump.
They’re hoping some sort of criminal charges will stick to sink his 2024 plans.
And two prosecutors targeting Donald Trump just made one shocking move that changes everything.
Two prosecutors leading the witch hunt against Donald Trump in Manhattan quit their jobs this week.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office confirmed that Mark Pomerantz and Carey Dunne resigned.
The DA’s office won’t say why the two left, but based on information The New York Post got from a source, it sounds like things inside the organization are getting downright ugly with the two attorneys choosing to bail on their careers at the same time.
The New York Times reported the resignations first—and said it came “not long after the high-stakes inquiry appeared to be gaining momentum and now throws its future into serious doubt.”
Exactly how the paper defines “gaining momentum” seems questionable since there was a “month-long pause” where the prosecutors hadn’t delivered evidence to the grand jury.
Based on how mainstream media outlets blew the story out of proportion, you’d think Donald Trump was about to be convicted on a slew of white-collar crimes.
But the resignations of Pomerantz and Dunne exposed a case crumbling before it was even officially underway—and even a radical leftist like new Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg may be ready to cut his losses.
“I’ve been representing Donald Trump for over a year in this case, and I haven’t found any evidence that could lead to a prosecution against him, or any crimes,” said attorney Ronald P. Fischetti. “I hope Mr. Bragg will now look again at all the evidence in the case and make a statement that he is discontinuing all investigation of Donald Trump.”
It seems the “fake it until you make it” approach isn’t working for prosecutors since they’ve been fishing for something to get Trump indicted on since 2018—and they still haven’t managed to find enough evidence to convince a grand jury that there’s even “probably cause” to believe a crime was committed.
According to The New York Times, the two attorneys who quit “had thus far been unable to persuade any Trump Organization executives to cooperate and turn on Mr. Trump.”
Perhaps because there’s nothing to reveal?
The fact that they couldn’t even convince a jury—one in solidly blue Manhattan—that it’s not worth raking Donald Trump over the coals in a trial is practically an endorsement.
News that two hot shot attorneys have given up on their careers rather than pushing forward to become heroes in their social circles, is also telling.
In the end, the fact that one of the most radical DA offices in the nation can’t dig up any real dirt in Trump Tower is making Donald Trump look like one of the most squeaky-clean politicians ever.
