It’s no secret that Mike Pence and Donald Trump have become mortal enemies since January 6.
The former Vice President specifically has gleefully tried to use January 6 to appease his own Presidential ambitions.
But what Mike Pence told his daughter about Donald Trump on January 6 will leave you stunned.
Former Vice President Mike Pence continued his tour of corporate-controlled media networks with a recent stop at ABC News for a sit down with World News Tonight host David Muir.
Despite being the longest of longshots for the Republican Presidential nomination, Pence is continuing to forge ahead with the charade that he could actually win the Presidency.
And as a result, he’s latched onto being the Never-Trump candidate who caters to Democrats and everyone else suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome.
In fact, during his interview with Muir, Pence claimed that Trump “endangered me and my family and everyone at the Capitol building” on January 6, and that “it was clear he decided to be part of the problem.”
If you didn’t know Mike Pence made that statement, you’d think it came from Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
Regardless, Pence pressed forward, and ended up weaving quite the tale about January 6 in order to rehab the image many Americans have of him on that day.
According to Pence, he was with his daughter as the events of January 6 unfolded, and a specific tweet the former President sent apparently served as the basis for Pence making himself into a hero.
“Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution,” Trump wrote on Twitter after Pence refused to reject the certified results of the Electoral College.
The Constitutional law aspects of that situation aside, Pence claimed that when he saw the tweet he told his daughter, “It doesn’t take courage to break the law. It takes courage to uphold the law.”
That’s a nice story to tell the so-called “mainstream” media so you look good to the Democrat voters who watch those networks, but let’s be real – the odds of that actually happening the way Pence tells it are slim.
It reads like a scene out of a Steven Speilberg movie, where the courageous Vice President stands up to the President to save the nation from armageddon.
Mike Pence is certainly entitled to believe that’s the case, but in reality, all he’s doing is living in the same fantasy world as Democrats where America was supposedly on the brink of collapse because Donald Trump suggested voter fraud may be involved in the election and some rouge morons took that as an opportunity to protest inside the Capitol.
January 6 was no more an “insurrection” than the radical Left’s nationwide Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots in the summer of 2020 were “mostly peaceful protests,” as CNN claimed.
But in the end, all Mike Pence is doing is ensuring that he’s not a factor in the Republican Presidential Primary.
Part of the lesson that should have been learned from the 2022 Midterms is that most Americans are done relitigating the 2020 election and January 6, and anyone – whether it be Mike Pence or even Donald Trump – who insists on making those any part of their 2024 sales pitch will be fighting a major uphill battle.
At the same time, though, Pence’s efforts could also be doing the exact opposite of what he is intending.
Focusing exclusively on January 6 and Trump, as Pence has done in most every interview he’s done for months, will obviously harden the roughly 30% of Republicans who are with Trump no matter what.
And in turn, should Pence and other Never-Trump Republicans, like Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson or Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), help make the Republican Primary field more crowded, the former President’s rock solid base could carry him through to the nomination, just as they did in 2016.
Mike Pence can make up stories and pretend to be this principled, courageous leader who everyone should love all he wants.
But in reality, he’s still the same weak kneed, career politician who caved and butchered an Indiana religious liberty law the radical Left deemed “anti-gay” as the state’s Governor in 2015.
This time, he’s just showing everyone he lacks a spine on a far bigger stage.
