Joe Biden has completely failed to protect the southern border.
Now the consequences of his wildly reckless policies are becoming clear.
The Washington, D.C. Swamp’s establishment elites are disturbingly invested in fueling the immigration crisis.
They battled Donald Trump every step of the way as he fought to increase border security.
But he was determined enough to stem the flow of illegal aliens with fences in critical areas.
As the repercussions of a wildly leftist illegal open border policy become obvious, border communities that have traditionally been Democrat strongholds are flipping red.
Lax border policies are allowing anyone willing to break the law to get in.
Recently, an article in The Washington Times revealed the reality of what’s happening.
“Border Patrol agents nabbed 15 people at the southern border in May who were on the FBI’s terrorist screening database, showing the free-for-all along the U.S.-Mexico boundary is unabated,” The paper reported. “The number of people on the terrorist watch list caught crossing the border is a record for any month, equaling all of 2021 and more than the Border Patrol found from 2017 to 2020 combined. They were among nearly 240,000 total border jumpers Customs and Border Protection nabbed in May, marking the worst month on record for the Biden administration.”
Democrats like to pretend an open border won’t function as a highway for terrorists, but it’s an obviously predictable problem.
Joe Biden has turned Customs and Border Protection officers into glorified mall cops as they’ve been stripped of almost any power to enforce the law.
Illegal border crossings have been basically decriminalized since Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced his department would be de-emphasizing deportations of those who have not committed additional crimes while in the United States.
Then Biden took it to the next level by bringing back catch-and-release—a process where alleged asylum seekers are released back into the country while they wait for an asylum court hearing.
Even though less than 10% of asylum claims are approved, very few bother to show up and those who do rarely leave the country voluntarily when they know they aren’t likely to be deported.
The Washington Times noted that “CBP had nearly 12,000 people in custody on any given day but ousted less than half of the illegal immigrants it encountered. The rest were either released outright at the border or transferred to other agencies, most of which would release them.”
It’s clear elites in both parties have a vested interest in illegal aliens pouring into the country—and zero interest in stopping the human tsunami crossing our southern border.
And in spite of the clear danger, it’s unlikely politicians are going to bother actually doing their jobs.
