The U.S. Senate is split 50/50 between the two parties, with Kamala Harris serving as the tie-breaking vote for the Democrats.
This means Chuck Schumer can’t effectively perform his role as Senate Majority Leader unless Joe Biden remains politically viable.
And you won’t believe the way Chuck Schumer is trying to give Biden cover for his failure in Afghanistan.
The month of August was dominated by headlines blasting Joe Biden for his disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Even though Biden told the American people the Taliban would not take over Afghanistan, the radical Islamic group took control of the country in in a matter of days..
Worse, Joe Biden’s horrible planning resulted in hundreds of Americans trapped in Afghanistan with no way out of the country.
But that didn’t stop Chuck Schumer from flat-out lying during a recent interview with a local TV affiliate, where he claimed every American who wanted to leave Afghanistan was able to get out of the country.
“You know, I can’t predict that,” Schumer responded, when asked how the disaster in Afghanistan would affect the 2022 midterms.
“I will say there will be a job for congressional oversight. There always is,” Schumer stated before praising Joe Biden for the supposed successful evacuation.
“But at the moment, actually, I’m still focused on trying to get some of those brave Afghans out,” Schumer added. “The Americans, all of whom wanted to come out have come out, praise God. But there are a lot of Afghans who risked their lives for our soldiers and others. Many got out, some didn’t, and I’m still working on trying to get some of them out.”
Chuck Schumer knew that was patently false the moment he said it.
In fact, the Biden administration admitted that at least 100 Americans were left stranded in Afghanistan.
Not only that, but American hostages remained in Taliban custody, as they refused to allow planes to leave the country until the Biden administration caved to their demands.
Of course, it’s no surprise that Chuck Schumer is desperate to deflect the blame from Joe Biden. After all, the Afghanistan failure served as a breaking point for Joe Biden’s Presidency.
But Schumer lying and saying that every American who wanted out of Afghanistan was able to will likely make the situation worse for Biden and the Democrats.
