Democrats are running out of time to turn things around.
They’re getting desperate.
And you’ll be horrified by the secret phone call Bill Clinton made to this key Senate Democrat.
Unless they can ram through legislation to rig elections, Democrats are worried they will lose power in November.
Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi are determined to prevent states from enforcing voter ID laws and also pass legislation that would mandate ballot-harvesting schemes and universal mail-in-balloting in every state in the Union.
However, a Republican filibuster recently prevented the bill from passing.
And now, Democrats are pressuring West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin to support triggering the nuclear option to eliminate the legislative filibuster so they can ram through vote-rigging legislation on a Party-line vote.
Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Oprah Winfrey even placed private phone calls to Joe Manchin in an attempt to convince him to support nuking the filibuster.
“Manchin has told colleagues that his phone line has been lighting up with prominent names outside the Senate in recent days. He’s heard from former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and talk-show legend Oprah Winfrey, plus former staffers to both Manchin and former Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.), according to a person familiar with the talks. Manchin’s office declined to comment on those calls,” POLITICO reported.
So far, Manchin won’t even consider the possibility of nuking the filibuster.
But without Manchin’s vote, Chuck Schumer won’t be able to wipe out the 60-vote threshold to end debate on the Senate floor.
Manchin receiving a call from Clinton, Obama, and Winfrey only shows how seriously Democrat Party leadership is looking at nuking the filibuster and locking Republicans out of power forever.
Of course, Democrats claim this is nothing more than a “voting rights” piece of legislation.
But the reality is that it is nothing more than a vote-rigging scheme to grant Democrats permanent political power in America.
