After she voted with Nancy Pelosi to impeach Donald Trump, Liz Cheney joined the Democrats’ January 6 Select Committee as the lone Republican.
Donald Trump has made defeating Liz Cheney a top priority of his in 2022.
But you’ll be shocked when you find out who is bankrolling Liz Cheney’s disastrous campaign.
Liz Cheney hasn’t always been “Nancy Pelosi’s favorite Republican.”
According to FiveThirtyEight’s vote tracker, Liz Cheney voted in line with Donald Trump a whopping 93% of the time.
However, once Trump left office, Cheney quickly devolved into the worst kind of Washington, D.C. “Swamp” monster.
But it’s not just Cheney’s anti-Trump stance that has changed.
She’s also picked up some newfound donors, who also fund the scandal-plagued Lincoln Project, funneling more than $55,000 into Cheney’s campaign coffers.
Ron Conway, a major Lincoln Project donor, provided $21,600 to Cheney and Cheney-related campaign committees.
Liz received $21,600 from John Pritzker, another billionaire Lincoln Project donor.
Other major donors to the Lincoln Project, such as Martha Karsh, Stephen Mandel, and Christy Walton have also stepped in to help support Cheney’s re-election campaign.
Right now, Cheney is facing a tough primary battle against Trump-backed attorney Harriet Hageman.
And a group of prominent conservatives, including former Senator Jim DeMint, are turning up the heat on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to boot Liz Cheney from the GOP.
What changed Liz Cheney from pro-Trump into a radical anti-Trump Leftists is one thing we will never truly know.
But what we do know is that Cheney has dug herself into a deep hole ahead of the 2022 elections that she likely won’t be able to get out of.
And we do know that this tragic saga could have been avoided if Liz Cheney would have simply followed Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment: “Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican.”
