The Biden administration was caught cooking the books on crime stats
Crime surged in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death in 2020.
Cities were burned to the ground by Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters, violent attacks escalated, and criminals roamed the streets freely.
Democrat-controlled cities responded by defunding the police and pro-crime prosecutors gave violent criminals slaps on the wrist, if anything.
Violent crime soared in many major cities across the country to the highest level seen in decades.
President Donald Trump was “fact-checked” by ABC News moderator David Muir when he claimed that crime was through the roof in his September debate against former Vice President Kamala Harris.
“President Trump, as you know, the FBI says overall violent crime is coming down in this country,” Muir claimed.
The FBI claimed in 2024 that violent crime was at a 50-year low based on their data.
Democrats and their media allies ran with these talking points during the election.
But retired Nashville police officer Ken Alexandrow accused the Biden administration of manipulating the data to make it appear that crime had declined.
“The way crime statistics are developed is that police departments around the nation send all their category 1 crimes, which are violent crimes, to the FBI. And then the FBI develops nationwide statistics,” Alexandrow explained. “But the changes happen when a new administration comes in, and they change the reporting conditions.”
The FBI defines violent crime as rape, murder, manslaughter, robbery, and aggravated assault.
Biden’s Justice Department simply changed the source of crime data
The Biden Justice Department switched from using data from the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program to the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS).
“If you ask anybody on the street, no one will tell you that they feel safer or that crime is going down,” Alexandrow stated. “However, it’s the job of any leader, whether they’re local, state or federal, to make your constituency feel safe. So how can we do that? Well, several police chiefs and city managers have been in trouble for manipulating stats.”
He said that cities began to remove certain crimes from their data to make them seem safer than they really were.
“A city may remove domestic murders one year, and then the next they’ll remove drug-related murders so they’re taking two pieces of the pie out,” Alexandrow explained. “So to manipulate their statistics, they take sections of the population out to prove that they’re doing their job.”
The Biden Justice Department followed the same formula to cook the books on crime data.
He said that 70% of police departments that reported crime statistics to the UCR never switched to the NIBRS.
“And keep in mind, those are cities, including L.A., Chicago, and New York City, along with 45% of Florida departments, not reporting,” Alexandrow stated. “When you have these major cities not reporting, you’re going to have a tremendous drop in crimes and, therefore, your statistics and your percentages will drop.”
The Biden administration manipulated the crime statistics to allow Democrats and the media to lie to the public about crime being down.
But they finally got caught thanks to the undeniable facts and one brave cop.
