A network anchor uttered three likely career-ending words that now have the media elites cowering in fear

A pay cut may not be enough to undue the damage the top anchor just exposed network news to.

In the aftermath of the 2024 election, the media finds itself in quite the predicament.

Their ratings are cratering to unprecedented lows as most Americans have finally rejected their propaganda.

And now this network anchor just uttered three likely career-ending words that have the media elites cowering in fear.

What goes around comes around

As most everyone is aware by now, President-elect Donald Trump recently scored a major legal victory over ABC News and longtime talking head George Stephanopoulos.

During a prior episode of This Week, Stephanopoulos claimed during an interview with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) – who, for the record, is a rape survivor – that President-elect Donald Trump had been found “liable for rape” after being sued by self-proclaimed “journalist” E. Jean Carroll.

But of course, that wasn’t true, leading ABC News to seek a settlement with Trump outside of court in a desperate attempt to avoid the discovery portion of the trial after a judge ordered the network and its anchor to turn over all relevant communications to Trump’s legal team – which would have led to embarrassing revelations about the network’s bias and corruption behind the scenes.

Ultimately, as part of the settlement, ABC News forked over a total of $16 million to the President-elect – $15 million which is earmarked for a future Trump Presidential library, and $1 million for his legal fees.

But most humiliating for Stephanopoulos was the fact that he and ABC News were also forced to put out a statement publicly admitting to their lie while apologizing to Trump personally.

And as The New York Post has reported, the ABC News talking head can barely contain his anger.

“ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos is ‘apoplectic’ and ‘humiliated’ by the network’s decision to pay $16 million to settle a defamation lawsuit brought by President-elect Donald Trump,” The Post reported.

“Stephanopoulos, who claimed Trump had raped E. Jean Carroll during an interview with Republican lawmaker Nancy Mace, was particularly upset about being forced to apologize, a source with knowledge of the situation said,” the report added.

But The New York Post’s reporting on the toddler-like temper tantrum Stephanopoulos is apparently throwing in light of the settlement wasn’t the only revelation surrounding the fallout from the ordeal.

A real life Greek tragedy…

While The Post noted that Stephanopoulos had recently signed a new contract with ABC News, Puck News’ Dylan Byers added to the report by revealing that he was forced to take a pay cut to remain at the network.

Byers also noted that his sources indicate that along with the pay cut, Stephanopoulos “is likely to eventually take on a more limited role, after already ceding pole-anchor position on special event coverage to David Muir.”

To make matters worse, Byers even went so far as to suggest that ABC News is in the process of securing a low-cost candidate to replace Stephanopoulos as the lead anchor for Good Morning America.

“Indeed, that is where things seem to be headed—albeit with the discretion and diplomatic finesse befitting a revered network veteran who, despite his slip-ups, has earned the right to an elegant exit,” Byers added.

In the end, the Puck News reporter said that while the writing seems to be on the wall, ABC News executives are struggling with how to push the longtime anchor out without further humiliating him.

“George may be headed toward his next act as a public figure, but no one wants to be the person responsible for it,” Byers concluded.

No matter how you slice it, George Stephanopoulos has always been a Democrat insider masquerading as a self-proclaimed “journalist.”

And his last day at ABC News can’t come soon enough.
