Democrats are counting on Alvin Bragg to score a conviction in his 34-felony indictment against Donald Trump.
That may be wishful thinking though.
And Alvin Bragg stepped in it when he crossed one line with the jury.
Legal experts zeroed in on one fatal flaw in Alvin Bragg’s witch hunt against Donald Trump
Manhattan Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg indicted former President Donald Trump on 34 felony charges over a supposed “hush money” payment Trump’s former attorney and convicted felon, Michael Cohen, allegedly paid to pornstar Stormy Daniels in order to convince her to sign a non-disclosure agreement that prevented her from speaking publicly about an affair that allegedly took place a decade before.
While the payment and NDA are completely legal, Bragg claimed that because the Trump Organization’s business records indicated that the alleged payment Trump made to Cohen to reimburse him for his payment to Daniels was for “legal services,” that somehow meant the former President had “falsified business records,” even though he was merely following Cohen’s legal advice.
To make matters worse, Bragg’s claim that Trump “falsified business records” has always – in literally every other case – been a misdemeanor with a statute of limitations that had long since expired.
But Bragg claimed that the supposed “falsification” was done to cover up some other alleged crime – a crime he has no evidence for and even refuses to even name.
That’s right, the Manhattan Democrat DA is literally claiming Trump committed an alleged crime by supposedly covering up another alleged crime that doesn’t even exist.
And as a cherry on top, both Bragg’s Democrat predecessor and the Biden regime – which is supposed to have jurisdiction over such cases as Bragg claimed Trump’s alleged payment to Daniels that started this whole ordeal was a federal campaign finance violation – looked into the case before the Manhattan Democrat DA took office, and concluded there was nothing to it.
Now, in a recent interview with Fox News, George Washington University constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley pointed out the absurdity of the case, and explained the fatal flaw that could bring it all crashing down.
Turley don’t play that
“The district attorney who once refused to move forward on this case yielded to pressure,” Turley explained. “The courts have allowed this to go forward even though many of us have said it is absurd.”
Turley proceeded to explain to Fox News’ Sandra Smith that the Democrat-controlled “New York legal system is relying on average people, frankly, to have a redemptive moment to say, ‘my god, we have to say enough. Where is the crime here?’ And that will come down to [Trump’s] intent.”
But the legal expert’s biggest revelation came when he exposed the fatal flaw in the core narrative around Bragg’s witch hunt.
As Turley pointed out, Bragg is relying on Cohen to be one of his star witnesses – despite the fact that the former Trump attorney has repeatedly admitted to committing perjury the last time he testified against his former client.
And the message behind Cohen’s entire testimony to the jury will be that they should imprison Trump for simply following the legal advice Cohen provided as his attorney.
“Keep in mind, you’re going to have [Trump’s] former lawyer telling this jury: ‘send my former client to jail for following my legal advice,’” Turley said. “How many cases do you know of where that’s happened?”
The idea that Bragg’s entire case rests on the jury agreeing with Cohen that Trump should be sent to jail for following Cohen’s legal advice simply proves how illegitimate this case is.
Alvin Bragg has been grasping for straws and manipulating the entire case from the very beginning.
But it may finally have come back to bite him.
