She's not just blocking Senate bills. She's coming for their seats.
Thune's SAVE America Act "Show Vote" Hands Democrats a Free Win
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) lit the Republican establishment on fire this weekend, calling for primary challenges against every Senate Republican hiding behind the filibuster to kill the SAVE America Act.
The SAVE America Act – already passed by the House 218-213 – would require proof of citizenship to register to vote and mandate photo ID for all federal elections.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune doesn't care.
Thune has scheduled what conservatives are openly calling a "show vote" – bringing the bill to the floor at the 60-vote threshold where Democrats will simply filibuster it into the ground, with no senators forced to pay a price.
The Federalist's Sean Davis reported that Thune's strategy is built to let the bill die while shielding Republican senators who oppose it from ever being exposed – killing it while pretending to try.
"The House GOP has a lot of flamethrowers," Luna posted on X. "EVERY SINGLE SENATOR that is HIDING BEHIND THE TALKING FILIBUSTER needs to be PRIMARIED by one of the House members with a spine. POTUS should hold off on endorsing ANY more Senators until they do their jobs!"
She followed that with a direct message to every senator banking on business as usual: "This week the Senate will learn all their bills will die in the House until they can get election integrity passed. We will kill every single one of their bills for as long as it takes."
Senate Republicans Have the Talking Filibuster Option and Refuse to Use It
The math isn't the mystery here. Republicans hold 53 Senate seats.
What Luna and dozens of House conservatives have demanded is simple: force Democrats into a talking filibuster – make them actually hold the floor, day and night, in front of every camera in America, to kill a bill that requires citizens to prove they're citizens before voting.
Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), and Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) all support it.
Thune won't move.
"Yeah, that's not going to happen," Thune told ABC News when asked about the talking filibuster option.
Sen. Thom Tillis went even further, telling reporters the bill has a "0% chance of succeeding" – while simultaneously claiming to support it.
These are the men who found time for a dog parade on the Senate floor but can't hold it for voter ID.
Luna has called out the specific villains by name.
She previously exposed Thune's plan to cave to Chuck Schumer and torch the bill behind closed doors, calling it "very disturbing." She caught Sen. Lisa Murkowski in what Luna described as an outright lie about her voting record during the debate.
Now Luna is done with warnings.
Trump told House Republicans in Florida that passing the SAVE America Act would "guarantee the midterms" and warned that failure would mean "big trouble."
He's right.
Up to 50 House Republicans have now pledged to kill every piece of Senate legislation that hits the House floor until the SAVE Act passes. Luna says they have the votes to do it.
Thune and his RINO allies built a machine to protect incumbents from accountability.
Luna just found the off switch.
