And Greg Abbott warned visitors across Texas’ border zone about this threat no one imagined.
Abbott warns illegal aliens of a danger along the Rio Grande River that has all hell breaking loose
One of the border communities that has been most ravished by the ongoing Biden border crisis is Eagle Pass, Texas.
It sits just across the border from the Rio Grande River, which serves as the dividing line between the U.S. and Mexico’s borders along the few-hundred-mile stretch just south of El Paso.
Back in December, some 4,000 illegal aliens attempting to enter the U.S. in the region were encountered by Border Patrol on a daily basis – and that’s just the figure pushed by the left-wing, pro-open borders organization known as the Migration Policy Institute, likely meaning it was far more.
But in order for illegal aliens to enter the U.S. in the area, they must cross the Rio Grande – there’s simply no way around it.
What teeth they have
That’s why one of the biggest dangers facing illegal aliens who attempt to enter the U.S. in the region – after being human trafficked, raped, or murdered by the cartels they pay to usher them across the border, of course – is drowning.
Additionally, the region is also covered with razor wire and other barriers thanks to the border security efforts undertaken by Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott as part of Operation Lonestar.
But Governor Abbott recently issued a warning to illegal aliens about another danger they may face if they still attempt to enter the U.S. near Eagle Pass.
Not in Gainesville anymore
The Texas Governor took to X to post a video of an alligator spotted in the Rio Grande to warn illegal aliens about the possibility they could come face-to-face with one of the reptilian predators while crossing the border.
“Alligators are in the Rio Grande,” Abbott warned on X. “FYI there are warning signs posted in some sectors. Cross at your own risk.”
Abbott’s post was in response to a report from independent journalist Auden Cabello, who noted that “local resident, Luis De La Torre, came across an alligator while fishing this morning at the Rio Grande.”
“Previous sightings of alligators have been confirmed by Border Patrol,” she added.
Alligators are in the Rio Grande.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department previously warned citizens – primarily those in the eastern third of the state – that “as human populations in Texas continue to expand, there have been an increased number of encounters between people and alligators.”
Border Patrol agents stationed in the region told The Washington Examiner that while agents on boat patrol have previously encountered the alligator on numerous occasions, “it’s never snapped at anyone.”
Luckily for the illegal aliens in the area, the fact that the alligators have yet to attack humans is likely because they’re alligators, not crocodiles – with little to no exceptions, crocodiles are far more aggressive than alligators, who are more “opportunistic eaters” and significantly less likely to be interested in making a human its prey unless you make it very easy for them.
But the number of illegal aliens who have drowned in the Rio Grande under President Biden’s open borders agent has skyrocketed, meaning there are more illegal aliens in the river than ever, which will only create more opportunities for the alligators to attack humans.
The Biden regime evidently couldn’t care less that their open borders agenda and taxpayer-funded handouts for illegal aliens are luring thousands to what may be a potential death trap each day, though.
They haven’t cared about the record numbers of illegal aliens who have drowned in the Rio Grande, or died through other means while attempting to illegally enter the U.S.
And they certainly haven’t cared about the innocent Americans who have died as a result of their open borders agenda either.
So why would they start now?
