Gutfeld Panel Exposed the Secret 40 Year Plan That Turned America Into a Junk Drawer

Greg Gutfeld called America's famous melting pot a junk drawer right there on Fox News.

That joke exposed a quiet policy shift that Washington built into immigration on purpose.

The scheme that killed America's melting pot has an exact start date and a name.

The 1960s Revolution That Taught Immigrants to Hate the Melting Pot

Gutfeld's monologue argued that cultural elites hate assimilation.

He is not wrong, and the receipts go back further than one Fox panel.

Edwin Feulner, the founder of the Heritage Foundation, says the junk drawer did not happen by accident.

Feulner traces the breakdown straight back to the cultural revolution of the 1960s.

He points to Mike Gonzalez's book A Race for the Future, which shows federal policy teaching immigrants for nearly four decades to see themselves as aggrieved ethnic groups instead of Americans.

Arthur Schlesinger Jr., a Pulitzer winning historian and lifelong liberal, watched it happen and admitted it anyway.

In The Disuniting of America, Schlesinger warned that the new ethos "replaces assimilation by fragmentation, integration by separatism."

He said it flat out: America was turning into a nation of groups, not a nation of individuals.

Samuel Huntington said the same thing in plainer language, warning that America had quietly stopped asking anyone to actually become an American.

None of these men were conservative culture warriors looking for a fight.

They were establishment liberals who watched the melting pot get replaced in real time and said so in print.

The same grievance framework shows up today every time Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or Ilhan Omar demands policy built around ethnic identity instead of citizenship.

Feulner's point is that the model is not broken, it is working exactly as designed.

Trump Achieved the First Negative Net Migration in Fifty Years

While Gutfeld's panel was diagnosing the junk drawer, the Trump administration was already dismantling it.

The Census Bureau confirmed the United States hit negative net migration for the first time in roughly fifty years.

The Department of Homeland Security says nearly 3 million illegal aliens left the country within a single year.

Secretary Kristi Noem said the removals mean safer streets, taxpayer savings and better jobs for American workers.

Border czar Tom Homan says 90 percent of asylum claims end in a removal order because the claims were fraudulent from the start.

Homan put it bluntly: "You can't demand due process and ignore the decision at the end of that due process, which is an order of removal."

Becoming a citizen is getting harder too, and that is by design.

The naturalization civics test used to let you pass with six correct answers out of ten.

Now it takes twelve correct answers pulled from a pool of nearly one hundred thirty questions.

President Trump credited the turnaround to the end of what he calls the migrant invasion.

For the first time since the cultural revolution Feulner describes, assimilation is being treated as the goal again instead of the enemy.

Why the Junk Drawer Only Gets Fixed One Way

A junk drawer is not a metaphor, it is a policy outcome, and somebody built it that way on purpose.

For roughly forty years Washington rewarded Americans for staying separate and punished them for blending in.

Chuck Schumer and the rest of Democratic leadership have defended the drawer instead of the melting pot at every turn.

Trump did not invent assimilation, he just stopped apologizing for demanding it.

The Census numbers prove the junk drawer can still be emptied, one deportation flight at a time.

Gutfeld was not just being funny on his show, he was reading the obituary of a theory the left has refused to bury for forty years.

That theory does not die on its own, it dies when voters finally stop rewarding the politicians who built it.
