The Oscars ratings continue to plummet due to woke celebrities turning the event into their out of touch political soapbox.
This year’s host was Jimmy Kimmel.
Kimmel is well known for his staunch commitment to towing the party line for the Left.
At this year’s Academy Awards ceremony, he did not waste a second to start targeting conservatives.
In his opening monologue, Kimmel set his sights on the Republican Senator from Alabama, Katie Britt, who gave the rebuttal speech to Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address.
His joke started about Emma Stone, who was nominated Best Actress for her role in the film Poor Things where she was “an adult woman with the brain of a child.”
Kimmel said she was “like the lady who gave the rebuttal to the State of the Union.”
As if it were scripted, the audience filled the room with laughter to signal approval for the political tirades that were to come that night.
Comedians have coined the name “clapter” for this routine of laughter by Hollywood Leftists in lieu of clapping as a way to show that everyone supports the same politics.
On Truth Social, former President Donald Trump slammed Kimmel, saying that he was a horrible host.
Trump suggested that if the Oscars really wanted to bring back an authentic audience like it once had, they should focus more on awarding films that people actually like rather than these so-called “art house features” that focus more on delivering a lecture.
“Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars. His opening was that of a less-than-average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be,” Trump posted.
“Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed-up, but cheap, ABC ‘talent,’ George Slopanopoulos. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous. Also a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years – Disjointed, boring, and very unfair.”
“Why don’t they just give the Oscars to those that deserve them. Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” concluded Trump.
After Emma Stone successfully won the award for Best Actress and delivered her acceptance speech, Kimmel then returned in order to read Trump’s Truth Social post to the audience.
“But, I was told we have, like, an extra minute. And, I’m really proud of something and I was wondering if I could share it with you. I just got a review…” the host started before reading Trump’s post.
Kimmel then proceeded to boast about the political weaponization of the legal system against Trump.
“Well, thank you, President Trump. Thank you for watching. I’m surprised you’re still w– isn’t it past your jail time?” Kimmel replied.
What should have been a night of remembering the best Hollywood was able to produce, ended up being a night full of cheap political shots.
The massively popular movie Oppenheimer scored seven Academy Awards including Best Picture, with Christopher Nolan earning Best Director, Robert Downey Jr. getting Best Supporting Actor, and Cillian Murphy scoring Best Actor.
As one might expect, Kimmel’s obsession with targeting Trump quickly stole the headlines.
