Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter for the sole purpose of protecting himself from being held accountable for the family’s alleged corrupt influence-peddling scheme.
But in doing so he may have made a grave miscalculation.
And Joe Biden went bananas when this top Democrat made one inconvenient admission about Hunter Biden’s pardon.
Top Biden ally goes rogue
Despite promising for months that he had no reason to do so, President Joe Biden opened quite the can of worms when he chose to grant his son, Hunter, a blanket pardon to ensure he cannot be held accountable for any crimes he may or may not have committed over the past decade.
While some Democrats took issue with Biden’s decision because of the obvious blowback that would come from it, others encouraged the Democrat President to go even further, pressuring him to issue similar blanket preemptive pardons to such corrupt elites as Dr. Anthony Fauci, disgraced former Representative Liz Cheney (RINO-WY), and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA).
But many of those same Democrats are also having a meltdown as President-elect Donald Trump reacted to Hunter Biden’s pardon by suggesting that maybe January 6 defendants should be given similar pardons when he takes office.
One top Democrat in particular, though, took a different approach.
During an appearance on CNN’s News Central, Representative James Clyburn (D-SC) – a top Biden ally who many political experts credit with working the backroom deals that ultimately got the Democrat President elected in 2020 – admitted that he personally had no issue with Trump issuing pardons to some January 6 defendants.
“I think that it’s the President’s prerogative to pardon whomever he wishes to pardon,” Clyburn said. “That’s up to the President. I favor the pardon system. It ought to be used to rectify wrongs. It ought to be used to forgive and to provide a second chance.”
Clyburn specifically noted that many of the January 6 defendants did not actually engage in any violent acts, and were merely arrested for being present at the Capitol that day.
“So, if you go on a case-by-case basis, you look at all of those people, some people may have gotten caught up in the emotion and maybe a pardon for them would be okay,” Clyburn explained.
But he was sure to stress that he wouldn’t agree with issuing pardons to anyone who engaged in violence that day.
“So, yes, go case by case. And there may be some people who got caught up and give them a pardon,” he added. “But a blanket pardon to everybody, irrespective – no, I do not agree with that.”
Of course, Clyburn conveniently stopped short of commenting on Democrats’ efforts to push Biden to issue blanket pardons to all sorts of corrupt individuals.
“A very corrupt system”
For his part, Trump previously told NBS News’ Kristen Welker in the wake of Biden pardoning his son that on his first day in office, he’s looking to issue pardons for some January 6 defendants.
“First day. Yeah, I’m looking for these pardons,” Trump said. “They’ve been in there for years, and they’re in a filthy, disgusting place that shouldn’t even be allowed to be open.”
“Look, I know the system,” he added. “The system’s a very corrupt system. They say to a guy, ‘You’re going to go to jail for two years or for 30 years.’ And these guys are looking, their whole lives have been destroyed.”
The President-elect continued by noting that he’d look at prospective pardons on a case-by-case basis, sifting through the more than 1,500 individuals the Biden regime charged with offenses relating to January 6.
“Yeah, I’m going to look at everything,” Trump said. “We’re going to look at individual cases.”
Trump also noted the hypocrisy of seeing unarmed, peaceful individuals arrested and imprisoned for years for merely being present on January 6 after Antifa and Black Lives Matter protesters have been allowed to burn down entire U.S. cities for years.
“There may be some exceptions to it – I have to look,” he continued. “But, you know, if somebody was radical, crazy. There might be some people from Antifa there.”
“The people that did very little. They arrested an old woman because she, I don’t think she did anything,” Trump explained. “They don’t even know what she did. These people have suffered. Their lives have been destroyed. And yet in Portland, where they burned down half the city, they burn it down all the time, it’s like a, you know, routine occurrence – they don’t do anything.”
All things considered, it’s beyond time to put the January 6 insanity behind us as a nation.
And the only way that actually happens is if unarmed, non-violent individuals who were merely arrested for being present on January 6 are freed from this Big Government nightmare.
